I concur to some of the points you highlighted; but China has done so well in areas of building the best speed train,building the longest kilometers of paved roads and building modern cities.

Am with you that they have built the best speed train (America can do it, but politics, and the money for overhaul) is involved, moreover, their own trains still work, and most of their train tracks are not good for high speed, it needs extensive modifications.


I think China would surpass america in 4 to 5 years, if America hires any useless or careless leader again. The division in america during that chaotic period, will make those who were suppose to be vigilant, take their eyes off the ball. During such a period, china would be able to really see american system architecture for what it is, probe its weaknesses, see their future plans, and then build and modify their posture, in response to their new found knowledge. But if no wrong move from either side, it might take china longer.


In terms of military foresight, the American generation of 40s to 70s, are the best and unmatched, by any generation so far. They were not perfect, but they learned from their imperfections, and also planned for decades ahead. Them and the Russian counterparts,
