The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has commiserated with the family of Chief Mrs. Tina Egwenomeh, a nurse and chairperson of the Forum of Local Government Nurses and Midwives (FOLGMN) in Ovia South West Local Government Area who lost her life in a road accident while on active duty immunizing children in the ongoing polio outbreak response campaign.

In a statement, Obaseki expressed sadness over the news, noting that the late Chief Egwenomeh was a compassionate, selfless, and committed nurse, whose exploits are worthy of commendations and emulation.

According to him, “It is with great grief and sadness that I received the passing of Chief Mrs. Tina Egwenomeh, who lost her life in a road accident while on active duty immunizing children in the ongoing polio outbreak response campaign.

“A shining example of devotion to duty, Chief Mrs. Egwenomeh was a compassionate, hardworking, and selfless nurse who made indelible contributions to the growth and development of the State’s healthcare system, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

She will be sorely missed.”
