Post Biafra War.
The records says after the war the South Easterners returned back and many of their jobs and houses were already taken from them (in Rivers State).

The video below shows how South Easterners were treated in River state in comparison to how they were treated in Lagos state.

Watch the highly educative short videos below.

Before, igbos were building their homes outside the east until abandoned property brought sanity to their brains.

After the war, they igbos were building their business hubs outside the east until Tinubu's igbo phobia and APC happened to them.

So the British man works for the Yoruba media. Think!
River state is igboland, yet ibo properties were taken from them on that same River state after the war and never returned. The Igbo man interviewed even said they (ibos) fled back home in the east.

Azikiwe used his Position as Premier to forcefully acquire the land of the Rivers people and

Redistributed it to his Friends and Kinsmen

That was a major reason for the Azikiwe ACB Scandal

The Rivers people took back their lands during the War after Liberation

No matter how much you buy of a place inasmuch as it isn't your hometown, one day you will sell it. If you don't sell it your offsprings will sell it to the offsprings of the person you bought from. Mark it.

Have you watched the video well? These are Ikwerre people from Igwuruta who came back after the war and had their homes occupied by non-Igbos in Rivers State then mostly Bayelsans of today and Ogoni. It was a State backed action.

As per the video, the cowards fled to the East only to return after the war. Why did they flee their home for the central Ibo? The Ibo (Eboe) man [the one you called Ikwerre] that the white guy interviewed said they ran away to the central i.e. ibo land when they heard boom boom in Rivers state grin

You lots should be grateful to your colonial masters (the Yorubas) for welcoming you back without touching your properties like your next door neighbors.

2nd video. Another Ibo man said it was their own brothers, including those that speak Ibo dialect that stole their abandoned properties.

They didn't run away to the center. When federal forces captured Rivers State the Igbos including Ikwerres who were still recognized as Igbos were treated like rebels so they had to flee with their wives and children for survival. From the video you can see as well that the then Governor needed proof of loyalty from Ikwerres and seizure of properties or maltreatment of Southeast Igbos was a strategy for them to be accepted back.

This is one one of the biggest problem with the Yorubas, always forming one nonsense accommodating isonu.

Every act of kindness is cowardice to an average Igbo man because they will take you for granted because they always want more.

And when you remind them about their boundaries and limits they will hate you, call you cowards, dirty and many unprintable names.

Destroying Age Old Myths About The Nigerian Civil War

Myth seven: Igbos lost their properties throughout Nigeria via the abandoned property policy after the civil war.

The truth about that sensitive subject is that cases of ‘abandoned property’ was an issue that erupted amongst the ethnic nationalities that were themselves consanguineously linked to the Igbos in and around Port Harcourt and in around the Benue area (less prominent in the Benue area, and more prominent in the Rivers area).

After the civil war, ethnicities who speak a language that is almost identical to Igbo took their property as abandoned property. But not a single Yoruba ‘saboteur’ did.

In Lagos, as well as the entire Western and Midwestern region property belonging to the Igbos were not seized by the Yoruba. Not at all. As a matter of fact, not only were the Igbo able to reclaim their houses in the Western and Midwestern Region after the war, many were also able to claim back rent for the period between 1967-1970.

An example of this is the case between the late Alex Ekwueme and Otunba Subomi Balogun. Although they were not really friends, per se, they lived close to each other. Just before the outbreak of the civil war, Alex Ekwueme left Lagos for the Eastern Region, like most prudent Igbos.

After the war, he returned to Lagos and, surprisingly, met his house in a renovated condition. While he was wondering what happened, his neighbour, Mr. Subomi Balogun, approached him and gave him his back rent in cash. These were the words that Mr. Balogun spoke to Mr. Ekwueme on that day in 1970:

“I renovated your house, rented it out and this is the rent we collected.”

Otunba Balogun was still alive into recently, and gave this account himself. The children of Alex Ekwueme are still alive. This account can be confirmed from eyewitnesses.
