I am too old to get drawn into a polar argument. Nobody said that BH had been exterminated. What I said was that the scale and frequency of those attacks have been significantly suppressed.

This is down to intelligence work and intelligence data is not made public as long as the issue is ongoing - in fact not for many years later. Insurgency. Terrorism structures sre madevup of cells and nodes some not even aware of their connections. To take down these structures can take many years and in the meantime the states security services may need to operate below public horizon for many many years otherwise the cut off node will regenerate.
