IMO LP MEMBERS PROTEST AT INEC OFFICE, DEMAND RELEASE OF CTC OF GUBER POLL DOCUMENTS.

Members of the Labour Party (LP) in Imo have marched to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state to protest the delay in the release of election documents.

Callistus Ihejiagwa, LP chairman, who led the protest on Monday, said they were at the INEC’s office over the delay by the commission to release the certified true copies (CTC) of all the documents used in the November 11 governorship election in the state.

He said the documents are important for the party to approach the court over the outcome of the poll.

“Nine days after, INEC has refused to give us certified true copies of those fake results that they used to declare hope Uzodimma winner,” he said.

“Nine days after the election, the Independent Electoral Commission’s Chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, the INEC Federal Commissioner in charge of south east, Mr Ken Ukaogu; the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Imo State Prof Silvia Agu, nine days after the election have refused to give us certified true copy.

“Inside the collation hall, they were mocking Labour Party. They were mocking us that we should go to court, that we should go to tribunal. The returning officer, Prof Abayomi Fasina was mocking us that we should go to court.

“Now, we have applied to them to give us CTC so that we can go to court. Nine days after the election, they are still delaying. They are deliberately frustrating us. As a law-abiding political party, as peace-loving people, we have come here so that the whole world will hear our voice.

“We have come here so that the whole world will hear that INEC is frustrating us they have denied us documents that we need. They are using technical reasons, they are saying there is a delay from one department to another.

“INEC we are begging you on bent knees, labour party we are gathered here in one voice, Imolites have come here in one voice, we have only one demand- CTC.”

Responding on behalf of the commission, Emmanuela Ben Opara, head of voter education and publicity, acknowledged that INEC received the request for the documents, adding that they are being assembled.

“The materials are being assembled as we speak so by tomorrow we give you the cost. On payment of the cost, we issue the materials to you. We are not saying we didn’t receive your application, we received your application and it’s being attended to,” she said.

......
Members of the Labour Party in Imo State on Monday protested at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Owerri, the state capital, over the alleged delay in releasing the Certified True Copy result of the just concluded governorship election in the state.

The state chairman of LP, Calistus Ihejiagwa, who led the aggrieved members, accused INEC of trying to frustrate the party from challenging the result of the election.

The members who sang solidarity songs displayed placards with various inscriptions such as: ‘INEC is supposed not to unbiased,’ ‘INEC, justice delayed is justice denied,’ ‘INEC, release CTC’ and ‘INEC should be independent’ among others.

Speaking to journalists, the LP chairman said the result as declared by INEC was not a true reflection of what transpired at the polling units.

Ihejiagwa, who was in a wheelchair, said INEC and the security agents allegedly connived with the members of the All Progressives Congress to compromise the election.

He said his party was ready to challenge the outcome of the election in court, but INEC staff members were allegedly employing delay tactics in a bid to frustrate the party.

He said, “The first time I came here was on the evening of November 11. I was hale and hearty and strong, and I came with my two legs.

“But I was beaten mercilessly and thrown outside from inside the collation room in the presence of the state Commissioner of Police, two federal commissioners of INEC, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof Sylvia Agu, heads of security chiefs in the state by thugs because I demanded that the right thing should be done.

“Today, I am here again in a wheelchair, rising from the severe assault by the APC thugs on the evening of November 11, which had affected my spinal cord, demanding from the INEC to give us the certified true copy of the fake results they used in declaring Hope Uzodimma and they have refused nine days after the election.

“The National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, the National Commissioner representing the South East, Ken Ukaogu, and the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof Sylvia Agu, have refused to release the CTC after nine days.

“They mocked the Labour Party inside the collation hall that we should go to court. The Returning Officer, Prof Abayomi Fasina, had bluntly told us to go to court. We have applied for the CTC so that we can go to court, but INEC is delaying, which is deliberate, just to frustrate us.

“We have come here this afternoon so that the entire world will hear our voice that INEC is frustrating us.”

Responding, the INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Logistics, Emmanuelle Opara, said the commission had already acknowledged the receipt of the application of the party for the CTC.

She said, “INEC has already acknowledged the receipt of the party’s application for the certified true copy of the governorship election and will be made available to you as it is your right to do so.

“The results are being assembled and will be costed and, when it is ready, you will be notified and when you pay, it will be given to you“

** RECALL:
Callistus Ihejiagwa was the same LP guy (Party Agent) who was mercilessly beaten by the APC thugs at the State Collation Agent when he continued pointing out to the State Collation/Returning Officer that he was not following the rules of the Electoral Act.

.

.
Three things might happen here..

1. The INEC might set their own office on fire and blame these LP people,, just because this protest happened.. And they won't release any documents again.
(So, I call on the LP Guys to be very very careful and cautious at this critical point in time. Let them be very very civil in this very approach)

2. The INEC will most-likely not give the LP guys all the documents they requested for,, especially the BVAS reports.. Their reasons might range from a lot of things,, INCLUDING SYNCHRONIZATION.. And when the LP guys would come back again for it, the whole delay tactics would start all over again, and they may still not get it.
(If this dares to happen,, then the LP Guys should immediately seek alternative sources for this data immediately,, which might include the IREV-Portal.. Let them no dull ooo.)

3. Olanipekun might be the one they employed to be the lead Councel for Uzodinma.. I have started seeing all those tricks again, which are very similar to his doings..

As For the Kogi Governorship Election....
...
BluntCrazeMan:
In Okehi LGA of Kogi State.

The collated number of registered voters (with over-voting polling-units included) is 69,298.
APC scored 47,304 with over-voting.

The collated number of registered voters (with the over-voting polling-units removed) is 20,587.
APC scored only 5,781 After all those polling-units with over-voting had all been removed.

The number of Registered Voters affected by the cancelled polling-units is 48,711.
..
..

..
.
..
In Okene LGA of Kogi State.

The collated number of registered voters (with over-voting polling-units included) is 144,481.
APC scored 129,504 with over voting.

The collated number of registered voters (with the over-voting polling-units removed) is 25,729.
APC scored only 21,211 After all those polling-units with over-voting had all been removed.

The number of Registered Voters affected by the cancelled polling-units is 118,752.
..

.
.

..
The total number of registered voters affected by OVER-VOTING in only the two LGAs mentioned above is 167,463..

..
...
.

THEREFORE, LET THE INEC BRING ALL THOSE BVAS-MACHINES AND PROVE SET OF DATA FROM THE IREV-PORTAL WRONG.
....
..
BluntCrazeMan:
..
**Meanwhile...
I need to raise two points here..
1. The supposed irrelevance of the IREV-Portal.
2. The unknown timeline of synchronization of BVAS Accreditation Data

1. The IREV-Portal is the only available tool with which the political parties can confirm and verify the number of accredited voters in each polling-unit, and the Electoral-Act and the INEC-Regulations clearly stipulated such provisions. Thus, the parties can use the accreditation data from the IREV-Portal to verify the accreditation data.

It's only the INEC that can do the inspection of the BVAS-machine under the supervision of the political parties; and thus, the political parties cannot easily come to the tribunal at the first instance with the BVAS-inspection-report of the BVAS-Machines. They can only come with the reports generated from the IREV-Portal.

..
.

2. As for the Synchronization....
The Electoral-Act and the INEC-Regulations did not mention anything about synchronization. And the INEC themselves had never issued any official statement to describe what synchronization means, and how long a typical synchronization process might take to complete..

Nevertheless,, after a strict monitoring of the IREV-Portal, it was revealed that most of the Accreditation Data started uploading on the IREV-Portal at about 2:30pm on the election day, (even before the actual results from the polling-units started pouring in)... And then, a batch synchronization happened at 4:54:01pm on the election day, which happened to synchronize all extracted data from the BVAS-Machines as at that time... Most Polling-units (even up till this very moment) have their last synchronization done at 4:54:01pm on the 11th of November 2023.

But then, some other polling units have their synchronization times done after the 4:54:01pm on 11-11-2023....

Some of these polling-units have the dates for which the Accreditation Data was last updated on the IREV-Portal up till 14th-Nov-2023,, which was Six days ago.
And after that,, there had not been any further updates/synchronization of the Accreditation Data on the IREV-Portal again, up till now that I am writing this.

INEC should then come out and tell us if the synchronization had been completed.
Else, they should come out and explain why the process of the update/synchronization of the Accreditation data suddenly became INACTIVE for the past six days.

The mistake this Labour Party made is believing that they are truly a contending party. The last presidential propaganda made them to assume that they are a factor to consider but the truth remains that LP only exists in the imaginations of obidunce. It is a lie that has refused to sell.

The Lp members and leaders should approach court of justice and seek order from the order to force Inec to release the CTC copies. Inec under Mahmoud Yakubu is an affiliated organisation in APC government.

I really don't follow elections in Nigeria again because of two reasons:

1. Stupid people
No matter how Nigerians compain about a system, there will still be a segment of the people, for whatever sentiments, that will still vote that system. E.g. Why should there be any body that should vote APC in the presidential election or why should Uzodinma have even more than 5 votes (apart from his family members)?

2. Dead System
The electorate system in Nigeria is long gone. We are in no democracy but a system of oppression. He who has the powers, have the day. The day another person carries a stronger power, e.g guns (military), this system will die too. So, its no democracy.

Why is it that everyone is always rigging against LP?

LP had >90% in the entire SE in the last presidential elections and APC wasn't able to rig. Even IPOB and UGM was on holidays then!

So what happened now?

How was APC able to rig now?

Where were the UGM and IPOB cannibals?

Where are the LP voters who voted for Obi in the presidential elections?

Make someone spin me an argument!
