Government College Ikot Ansa SS2 Students Allegedly Employed Gangsters To Fight With SS3 In Calabar

Amateur footage has shown the moment some Senior Secondary Two (SS2) students allegedly imported gangsters to fight their senior counterpart – Senior Secondary Three (SS3) in Government College Ikot Ansa, Calabar, Cross River State.

In the video that shows a rowdy scene, some students are seen fighting with sticking and what is also seen to be metal objects; as well as exchanging punches.

Some students are seen standing aloof while some scamper for safety.

A voice suspected to be that of a teacher is heard screaming “Emediong!, he is bleeding…”

The voice continued: “I’m marking your face, won’t you go home?” A clear statement that academic activities for the day were aborted.

The school is located in Ikot Ansa Community, a few meters away from Zone 6 Command of the Nigerian Police Force, and also a distance walk from the Federal Housing Police Division.

There are insinuations that gang activities are beginning to creep into most Nigerian primary and secondary schools; an act that is viewed as a gradual moral decadence finding its way into the arena of moral uprightness.

School war. A day set aside for seniors, mostly between SS2 and SS3 students to UFC, wrestle, exchange blows, and beat living shits outta each others for flimsy reasons.

This happens mostly in mixed school or boys only school. Fights out occurs after school hours within school vicinity.

Funnily when they're tired of infighting they go all out to engage nearby schools.

Weapons Used for engagement: planks, magic, bottles, branches of nearby trees, their very own seats gonna be broken, plus their God given fist, legs for karate, and what have you is normal used.

Reason for fight: stupid reasons. Fight over girls, seniority, and football. Who won or who lost.

Rules of engagement: it starts with push, shove, and more push and shove.

Friends of each party comes out to weigh their supports, each laying their support against each other. Thereby Translating, turning into, or metamorphosising into free for all fight.

Teachers insight flees. Only takes the help of external security to quell tensions. But on most cases it's a fight till everyone runs away or home to return to fight another day.

Normal level for public schools.

Our own na just after the last exams..

It's a large complex with about 4 different senior secondary school and 2 primary ones.

We must fight. Something must happen, pent up anger must bust, person head must tear, girls must shout, supporters club must jubilate, then rumour must spread...

One time I was going home and Ajumoni boys crossed me, wielding sticks and whatever, I just laugh. Two of my teammates where in the group, Matthew and Fatai.
