Ask the yorubas what is the meaning of eko, etiosa, Oshodi in Yoruba language they will start talking rubbish. The Aworis never had a ruler and their first king was bini prince. Did they bother to ask why the Aworis were paying taxes to benin kingdom. The Yorubas are known for changing history to make them feel better.

Sambisa is available for claiming but every one like something good. Yoruba Lagos is a good thing .Benin and ibos love to attach to it.

Your quarrel is with generations of hereditary KINGS of same exact Lagos going back centuries and their oral tradition.
Go tell them they are telling lies and that you know better than them!

Mumu, this is 18th century, we are talking of 700 years ago, when yorubas were not in Lagos, Benin empire created Lagos, the main parts of it, Island.

Everyone knows aboriginal southwestern people own the land, because it's where they dominate, but this piece of history about Benin creating Lagos island, and Island areas of Lagos is true.

More traders, both Europeans, Portuguese and local indigenes trooped into island, when Benin empire brought it's security there, it became safe and organised, to live and trade.

Oba of Benin did not say Benin own Lagos, of course the indigenous southwest people own it, but he is stating facts, when he spoke about creating Lagos, and turning it into a bouyant, safe state, to trade and live...the first Oba and all is from Benin empire.

Can really explain what you mean by create Lagos.

Mugu there is difference between etiosa and eti osa. Eti osa, the one in Lagos simply means lagoon side 🤡

At first you said Osa isn’t an Edo word, now you’re saying they’re spelt separately. Dunce that know nothing about history want to defend rubbish. Have you ever heard the word Etiosa in the entire Yoruba land? again from any other Yoruba land. Ok tell me, which Lagoon is in Island that Etiosa was named after you lying thief!

Hi back to school and complete your secondary school. You can’t even make a correct statement yet you think you are intelligent enough to argue grin grin

Etiosa is no longer Lagoon but now river bank grin. I’m other words, Eti is River while Osa is bank in Yoruba isn’t it? You’re so dumb that you really need to go back to school. You don’t even know what River is called in Yoruba.

What a low life. Giving up instead of proofing that Etiosa is a Yoruba word undecided

Go look for something to eat and somewhere to sleep, you’ve tried but it’s unfortunate that you are shallow minded.

Goat. River, ocean, lake practically have almost the same Yoruba word. I know most Benin are generally daft and slow. If not you would have confirmed it using translator. Binifool

Didirin dirobo. Binifools jumped ondo, Ogun to create Lagos. I know you are naturally daft. Binidiots created Lagos and there is no single Benin king or trace of Benin language in lagos. Instead of going back and forth. Take megaphone and shout in oshodi that Benin created lagos.
