Can someone tell me what Reno meant by the bolded?

"I am not for or against what HRM Ewuare II said. I am just for HRM Ewuare II. "We do not say you should agree with him. But even if you must disagree, do so with the utmost respect. This is not some warrant chief created by the British. This is the scion of a dynasty that created the greatest civilisation in Black Africa. Show some respect!"

Racoon:
Let's see when the civilisation of our brethren started since the Benin kingdom is the longest existing empire in Nigeria that vehemently refused colonisation by the western imperialists.

Yet the British put his grandfather inside shackles with lock and key. Then exiled him to calabar where he eventually died never to see his village again.

Which of the King are you shading?

If Pre-colonial Nigeria had two or more Kings like the Oba of Benin, Nigeria wouldn't exist today and that would have been better for those known as Nigerians today.

Did anyone from present day Southeast Nigeria put up a fight against the British/colonialism?

None...

If not foolishness, pray tell what the shade is about. He is pained he is not Igbo. The warrant chiefs or not Indirect rule failed in the east but we know whose kings bowed to the British queen (Princess perhaps) and those that where deposed and exiled.

We know also from history those who revolted against imperialism. If the East doesn't have Kings original is nothing to mock, Isreal never had kings but judges.

Funny enough, in Nigeria today a king can be deposed by a mare governor even the highly respected Emir/ Emirate of Kano so rest.

Oba Of Benin must be Respected
Everyone agrees

Even though if Ooni of Ife should go to
Benin to Claim he is the owner of the Benin Throne and Kingdom which he rightly is
we will still respectfully ask him

Ah ? Kabiyesi Kilode
Baba a mo wipe oto ni
Omo yin ni Benin
Sugbon Baba e ba ma se be

Ah ? Kabiyesi Why?
Even though everyone knows it is true

As a Christian I must say
It is one thing to mount a Throne
It is another thing entirely for God to give Power to a Monarch.
God Almighty truly Gave Queen Elizabeth of England and Great Britain Power
Somebody who entire Nations and kingdoms never set their eyes on
Yet she was effectively ruling them from 6000km away in London

From the analysis, Reno just opened the anus of Ile-Ibinu and their King. He's not always sincere cos this post ended up shading Ile-Ibinu people and throwing stray punch to Yeรจbรถws. Reno is an author of confusion. In fact, he was recruited and given broom since June 2022 but opposition parties and their supporters didn't know.
Also, Ile-Ibinu people, there's no price in being proud. Una proud somehow. Must you exalt ya culture to denigrate others? Write ya history the way you like, respect others when they write their own too.
In fact, tragedy of 1897 is enough to humble una. That unfortunate incident would v been prevented if Ofonrawen used diplomacy.
Na wisdom Yorubas dey use to survive o! That's why some ignoramus call them cowards but doesn't understand that youncioosebya battles wisely. It's he who lives to tell another day that won the war.

To nuke you dey hungry me. You v been nothing but a bigot. All your pains against APC is cos those you are ass-licking didn't win.
You can't do more than people like TonyeBacarnistar of 2014-2015 GEJ era. Only garri filled up ya brain. Bloody gay-tool of losing politicians!
If not for foolishness that runs in your family, how can you use a tribal slur against igbos and then accuse another of bigotry?

This is crazy

I KNOW ITS BECAUSE YOURE USELESS AND DUMB THAT WHY YOUR PARENTS DIDNT SEND YOU TO SCHOOL
THE OBA OF BINI IS A COLONY OF Yoruba LAND WHO WAS CONQURED BY THE BRITISH IN LESS THAN 3MONTHS
WITH THE KIND OF MIGHT AND TERRITORIAL INFLUENCE YOU LOT DELUSIONALLY ALLOT TO BINI KINGDOM ONE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THEY WOULD PUT IN SERIOUS RESISTANCE FOR DECADES OR EVEN ONE YEAR OR EVEN DEFEAT THE BRITISH TO PROVE THE WEIGHT AND MIGHT THE KINGDOM POSSES AND LIVE TO ITS NAME

OR DIDNT YOUR READ OF ETHIOPIA AND HOW THE FOUGHT GALLANTLY AND REFUSED TO BE COLONIZED

BUT THE SAID KINGDOM WAS DESTROYED AND RAZED DOWN AND THIER OBA WAS CAPTURED LIKE SARDINE AND SENT ON EXILE LIKE ORDINARY CHIPS

ALSO IF YOUR PARENTS HAD SENT YOU TO SCHOOL YOUD HAVE KNOWN THE IGBOS TERRITORY UNLIKE THE BINI N YARIBAS DIDNT REALLY OPERATE A MONARCHICAL SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT BUT A THEOCRATIC AND DEMOCRATIC ONE. A MORE COMPLEX AND ADVANCED SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT AND THIS GAVE THE BRISTISH TOUGH TIME TO CONQUER

THRY FOUGHT EKUMEKU WAR FOR 30 SOLID YEARS BEFORE THEY COULD SUBDUE THAT IGBOID KINGDOM, THEY FOUGHT AROS FOR CLOSE TO TWO YEARS BEFORE THEY COULD SUBDUE. AND EACH ACCOUNT OF THE EVENT WERE DESCRIBED AS A "FIERCE RESISTANCE".

THE BRITISH EVEN AFTER VICTORY HAD TO CREATE WARRANT CHIEFS AND THEY WERE ALSO FIERCELY RESISTED THAT ITS EVEN LED TO A RIOT ORCHESTRATED AND CARRIED OUT BY WOMEN- ABA WOMEN RIOT OF 1929

THEY WAR BETWEEN THE BRISTISH AND BINI KINGDOM WAS NOT FIRECE. IT WAS MORE LIKE A WALKOVER FOR THEM

SO NEXT TIME SHUT THE HELL UP AND PUT SOME RESPECT TO THE IGBO NATION

LEST I FORGET THE BIAFRA FORCES ALSO CAPTURED BENIN IN LESS THAN 24HRS WITH THE OBA OF BINI AS HEAD OF THE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. YOU DEY MENT

What is Omokri saying? Oba never respected himself by saying that kind of things in the public in the first place. He allowed igbo distorted history about Lagos to enter his head and came out to say that kind of things in the public. So, oba is also conveting Lagos to the extent of saying that kind of things out in this 21st century. Why saying that out in the first place since he knows such history can't achieve any meaninful result?
Haha, Igbo again. No content without Igbo

Not those ones alone o, it's time Yorubas tell Benin what the truth is and who influenced who past.
Benin has so many Yoruba names, insignia etc that they can't trace it's meaning in Benin language, words, alphabets, sentence etc except in Yoruba language.
The Olu of Warri that mad boy called Reno is taking about, what's the meaning of Olu?
Isn't it Oluomo? What's the meaning of Olu in Warri and Benin language?
Those Warri people too, are they not influenced by Yoruba cultures? No be the same culture wey colonised their Benins come spread from Benin to Warri?
If Olu of Warri is the son of Oba of Benin who's a Yorubaman by blood, then Olu of Warri sef ba Yorubaman. So if I say Yorubas owned Warri, I use my ogogoro resembled the Oba wey komot his palace go talk trash for Lagos.

To Lagos matters, all insignia, language of all things in Lagos depict Yorubas. The issue of Benin there is explained below with evidences.

Lagos (Lagos de curamo) is a Portuguese word meaning lakes. As you all know, Lagos has many lakes. Also, in Yoruba language, the word Eko or Oko means Farm.
Evidence: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Lagos#:~:text=Lagos%20means%20%22lakes%22%20in%20Portuguese,%22%20and%20later%20%22Lagos%22.

Ancient Lagos was used for farming by Olofin who was the first ruler of Lagos before Ashipa. Both Olofin and Ashipa are Yorubamen.
The first Oba of Lagos is Ashipa a man from Awori tribe of Yorubas.
He went to Benin as a war Chief cos he had dispute with Olofin, another Yoruba chief who was the ruler of Lagos at that time. Around this time, the Oba of Benin had trae routes from Benin to Lagos & probably saw it as an opportunity to annex Lagos cos it's a place where trade was booming at that time cos of it's nearness to the sea. It's to be noted that Ashipa had access to Benin palace via trade. So he was assisted with warriors who defeated Olofin. Ashipa, a Yorubaman became first king of Lagos and his descendants were kings till today.

So if the Oba of Benin that made recent talk must talk, he should only talk about the influence of Benin in Lagos Island which happens btw the fight of Ashipa and Olofin and not that Benins owned or founded Lagos.

Lastly, Lagos is Yorubaland. The language, culture, tradition and everything is Yoruba and it's foundation is Yoruba. However at various points, it has mixed with other tribes. Even in present day, Igbos, Hausas dominated some parts of the state and I hope in future, Hausas or Igbos won't come and lay some claims.

It's important to know history and understand history with common sense.
For Yorubas, a pdf of their history can be gotten here. It's named History of Yorubas by Rev Samuel Johnson. It's the most concrete do far as at 2023 AD. Forgotten Books
