Before Lagos state would demolish structures, they should first demolish their archaic systems that are not working.

Go to office of the State Surveyor General, they’re still sorting their files manually.

They’ll give you tracking numbers that you can’t track from the comfort of your house without meeting or interfacing government officials.

The last time I went to track a file, I was told that the fire incident that happened in the OSSG office affected them hence the reason they’re sorting millions of records manually.

I ask if they haven’t digitize their records in 2023 and if they don’t know what they call backup in this age and time.

Attached below is how it’s done in a sane society. They make land information easily accessible to their citizens to prevent people from building on committed lands.

But here, govt deliberately keep the records away from the people. Instead of fighting tooth and nail to fix those systems that are not working, they’re celebrating their mediocrity on the social media.
It’s even more worrisome that the educated and those who have lived in sane societies find it so comfortable to cuddle up this mediocrity than to question it.

Lagos the biggest economy in Africa still sorting their land records manually in 2023 - SHAME!

Is this how difficult it is to obtain land information ion developed societies?

The energy they exert on social media to throw tantrums like overgrown babies should be spent in their offices building systems to prevent this issues from reoccurring.

But then, you can’t give what you don’t have!

Mediocres and opportunists in power
Chinedu is coming don't worry.

You are dumb. So demolition should stop because in your foolish mind, the only way to go about land registration is the Uk standard, you are evil

Lagos state government is wicked..... they can't demolish properties without proper compensation and arrest of the government officials that approved ...but they will not arrest them , cos past governor's, including Tinubu took a share of the bribe by developers

They should compensate people who built illegally abi? Shishi dem no go get....
They should present the government approval or sue lagos state government, if they have the documents....

Most of these guys lack emotional intelligence, they are fond of blowing issues out of proportion and crying ethnic victimisation over any issue to score cheap political points.

Demolishing structures is not the only way to build storm water drainages.

We are no longer in the stoneage.

Here’s another dumb decision to take over buildings without toilets. The world has moved away from Kurt traditional toilets to central sewage systems.

It’s just terrible watching some of ya show your ignorance on public forum.

Is this not complete lunacy?

Agungi in Lekki.

Wow! Of course there can't be any government approval for this. This is so unprofessional and disgraceful if the developers are indeed educated. Where's the water supposed to go? No wonder there's been heavy flooding in Lekki. Yet, we always blame LASG for inefficiency.

I believe an investigation should be carried out. Those who sold the land should be arrested and prosecuted. The drainage/land doesn't belong to them in first place, so selling something that doesn't belong to you, is stealing.

The property owners can sue those who sold to them since they're known to them.

You are actually dumb, the more you up that gutter you call a mouth, the more you reek of stupidity,

So the government should channel their limited funds into redesigning the city plan to please some bunch of idiots who have decided to build houses on drainage/water way.

Stupidity needs to deleted from the dictionary and replaced with your name and picture.

What do you think is stalling 4th mainland bridge project?

It is the realignment!

Realignment is necessary when you’re turning an unplanned city to a planned city.

But then what do you know?

Why was Lagos-Calabar railway not done? Realignment is happening in some areas where development has happened.

You’re confidently celebrating mediocrity and cluelessness. Well that’s why you’re you!

The commissioner talking to some of the residents.

The worst part of it is this attitude of "I can do it and get away with it". It is a brazen attitude"

Commissioner: There was a contravention here, wasn't there?

(The resident was about to talk and the commissioner interrupted him)

Excuse me. I am a lawyer. I am giving you the courtesy of being a public servant. There was a contravention here, wasn't there?

Resident: Severally.

Commissioner: And you have been served abatement notices many times?

Resident: Yes sir.

Commissioner: You see all those people at the back. We have demolished their structures, so why should we leave yours? You don't have two heads?

The worst part is that in front they completely blocked the canal

The so-called lake existed because they had sand-filled the canal, made it narrower, built an estate on it and the water had backed up and overflowed its banks because it had no where to go.
