So if Benin founded Lagos, why did the Benin run back to Benin? Yes they attacked, dominated and influenced many places in Lagos. Hence the Benin names of some places in Lagos.

I am an Aro man...not only did Igbo sell them as slaves ,the Igbo conquered the Niger delta lands and established their lands...half of Abia state are conquered lands from Aro to Aba

Even till date we have Aro settlements in Rivers and Akwa Ibom ...so how did they sell Igbo when the Igbo are taking their lands

Half of Ebonyi are land gotten in conquest from Cross River


Nsukka are lands gotten from Igala from conquest

No Oba Benin has ever been ridiculed like this .The Benin people promote and can even fight to any extent just to put the Bini empire ahead of any other empire .
They will tell you that you cant see Oba of Bini visiting people ,govt etc any how and all sorts of that and that it is the govt or people that will go and see him in his palace .
Awee,Beni people carry their king for head and i really like that about them even though they over do it at times .
They can tell you the wall of Beni is stronger than the wall of Jericho etc .I hail una.
I hope you all can safe this king from all this embarrassment ..

Chief Asari Dokubo, statements should be as academic as possible. We have records in the Ifa corpus of wars that happened over five thousand years ago. If Benin attacked Lagos, it it will be recorded in the history of the Awori. The ODU that founded Eko Akete is Ogundakete. Ogunda Irete and the Benin did not fight with the Awori. The Benin empire had more than ten times more Yoruba than Edo and the Benin that came to Lagos were the same stock as Itsekiri Owo or Ugbodu people. They were not Edo and they communicated among themselves in Yoruba the lingua franca of the empire. They established a Benin style monarchy in Eko Akete or Isale Eko and nothing happened more than that. The people are Awori and will be part of an Awori state and they will recognize the most senior Awori monarch in the same way the Olubadan recognizes the Alaafin of Oyo. It is an Awori land and the people are Awori who will be in an Awori state. Awori have their land just as Benin have theirs and around one thousand or five hundred people from Benin could not have settled in that place without the go ahead of the Aworis. They would sweep them into the sea whether Yoruba or not

Una sure say Ijaw and Bini fit form one country as Niger Delta?
Ijaw is too small to lord over a Bini man or an Efik man.

Even the lagos island wasn't founded by binis. They only imposed a ruler after winning a war...if you know the leadership structure in lagos island....u will know that the Oba has no land....the land owners are the idejos...the idejos are pure yorubas of awori stock, who were the inhabitants of lagos before the binis struck....and the peaceful end point was that the bini man's descendant ruled and the yoruba owners of the land retained their land.....

It is same way the oba of Benin is of yoruba blood while the people of bini are still bini people that existed since the ogiso dynasty....Will yorubas or ife suddenly claim to have founded bini?....

OBANIKORO - the king is bitter. maybe grieving is why he is bitter
IDUMOTA - edo know their enemy ( edo is yoruba tree )
IDUMAGBO - edo people drink agbo
EKO - from echo to highlight the spiritual death of the place in that era ( lots of voodoo )
