This is good news for the economy. However, government needs to still do the following: bring inflation down to single digits by increasing interest rates, fully deregulate the price of oil and electricity and cut company tax to 13%. This initially would cause a lot of pain but would produce at least 8% annual growth from 2026. |

This would be the beginning of actually solving the petroleum shortage impasse we find ourselves today. Build refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri, Bayelsa, etc. I wish this foreign refinery could begin operation tomorrow morning so that people would know what a scam the NNPCL and Dangote represent. 1 Like |

muyico:US and its co evil doers will not allow that one see the light of the day. And this one being proposed by one Baker nonsense will not materialise until Jesus comes. Until a certain section of the country (North) is collectively subdued by other regions, their dirty satanic Agreements with the west will continue to dwarf Nigeria in all sectors. Funny enough they are readily poised to walk out of the unholy matrimony once the cash cow dies (southern crude). |

Rubbiish: Why do you people talk by limiting your horizons? Do you know how many Refineries are in USA and all of them are Competing till tomorrow, but you only hear of Mobil Oil? •Yet people like you complaining that Dangote is this,Dangote is that and by your assessment, how do you drive the Prices down without Competition by having other Producers? •Don't you know that these Multinationals have seen so much Potentials in Nigeria- a Country of over 200Millon People before venturing here- From Oil- is Gas and so much Oil-and Gas Reserves- with Huge Population! Let believed and keep hope alive! •We( the Masses) must begin to Fight the Politicians- especially the -------------1.-Governors, collecting- Multi NBILLIONS- from Subsidies- to- -----------+Quarterly NBILLIONS Federal -------------+-Allocations- to NBILLIONS Budgets on yearly basis- without showing anything tangible on the ground for their Citizens! 2.the National Assembly ( Senators and House of Reps) + State Assembly who collaborated with Illegalities of the Governors. 3. The Ministers and their MIDAS ( Min& Depts) - who spent Multi-NBILLIONS - without Accountabilities! |

Bluntemperor:Are u comparing Nigeria to US?? Please stop writing all these long notes for nothing. You & I know nothing will come out of this as usual. Didn't the current administration stated refineries will start functioning this December? Now we are in Dec, they are talking about US firm? Smh You think these corrupt politicians will ever allow a refinery to function in this country? If they need a refinery to function, they don't need a US firm to build one! |

No way. This is their usual way of extorting the oil of other countries. Before you know it, Nigeria will turn to Iran or Syria and when you start to fight back their extortion, they will call you terrorists. |

Good news... If only the hateful tribalist, will not be hateful and tribalist. It would have been a hopeful good news. There need to be a mixture of domestic and foreign refineries. Not just the few like Dangote. Is it not fair that the SE gets the two US related refineries and any new power generation plants. Abi, is this kinds of fg project disbursements, allegeric to the the SE? If not that many igbos can be aloof to tribalism business, at least the general sense of fairness and balance for dey. With foresight, you plan it On a more serious note no be sTheir actions 50 years trend to make sense of and feel their logic. The 50 years tribalism business of Nigeria, in summary. The process from the trend analysis, is take most of the resources from the SE and SS, then take the meaningful part of the deal, and put it in the core north, sw, and then maybe throw one or two deals, to the SS (mostly amongst delta, rivers, cross Rivers, and akwa ibom). Igbos, past trends will tell us that the reason that they give those SS states some deals, is to buy allies from the region and try to pit them against the SE. And also have reasons to station the sham forces in those places. They take about 45% middle belt and lower north people, then share 40% core north, 20% sw, then 5% SS, in the sham forces, and place them in the SS. Then in the middle belt, the core north and sw remains the same, while the other ones are reversed, but this time, with like 20% more SS then middle belt and lower north the same lowers. They might throw once in a while deal bones to the middle belt and lower north, every other time. Once every spaced blue moon, they might build a road in the east, or just announce it. You will not see wannabe SE mouthpiece Umahi aka O wuru ummai (nmai). You will not see house boy Umahi, advice for fairness in economics and security. The hateful tribalist needs to let the SE have this one, afterall it is suppose to be a general success. Only when it comes to the SE and some parts of the SS, na when brain for cunny dey dey. They kill and destroy the SE at will, trying their hardest to create discomfort amongst the people, then they systematically make the foreign investors or any experts, pick between the core north and sw. Igbos are normally mostly happy for any deal. But it is time to start putting, not only this deal, but more deals of magnitude, in the SE and everywhere else. Igbos need to advice the Americans and other allies, depending on deal, to house it in the SE and SS. It is a mutual interest, and it is good for Nigeria or for the great region. It is ideologically safe and it is the right thing to do. If they borrow from Saudi or dubai or turkey, they strictly share those deals between the core north and the SW. Then when they get from uk, USA, Israel, France, Germany, etc, they still focus on those two places. The core north no care say e dey go Lagos, because one thing wey dey go for them, dem still get over 45% sham forces in the sw, while the sw is 40% is sw, then a mixture of others. In the north, is 65% to 70% core north, then like 10% sw, then the rest mixed. mean while, in the core north, they take their resources from one side, and still do the follow up process in the same core north.. It is time for fairness, American or visionary partners, not terrorists related countries, should know that the SE and many parts of the SS, are your best bet for fairness Now sha, the SE deserve one. I will like, say like, if it were 2 refineries, one between Ebonyi and abia, then another between enugu and Anambra, then future innovative power generation plant in imo. |
