The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four of its operatives engaged in the purported kidnapping of a hotel worker in Port Harcourt and the subsequent demand for a ransom to free him.

The hotel worker, simply identified as Darlington, was reportedly snatched on his way to work last Friday at about 8pm when the police operatives stopped him near Choba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

According to reports, the rogue cops checked the man’s phone and body but found nothing incriminating on him.

However, after identifying where the man was working, the police reportedly kidnapped him and threatened to kill him, as they had done in the past to other victims who refused to comply with them.

The operatives had threatened to toss his body into the Choba River after killing him and labelling him a kidnapper while pressing for a N1m ransom.

Reports indicated that the cops put the man inside a truck and patrolled with him till they finally moved him to a bush near Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.

Olatunji Disu, the state Commissioner of Police, confirmed the officers’ arrest at a Port Harcourt event, stating that they were in custody.
CP Disu stated, “I heard about that incident on social media, and despite that, I went to town with my officers to work on it.

I’m confirming to you that officers who had contact with that victim have been arrested. I’m waiting for complaints from the victim to know what and what to really look out for.

“The officers are there. We are not hiding anything and when the complaints come we will give you further details on what we have done about it.”

Too many bad eggs in the Nigeria Police Force. We have criminals in the police, criminals in the military, criminals in the executive, criminals in the judiciary, criminals in the legislative, criminals in public sector, criminals in private sector, criminals in schools ( primary, secondary and tertiary teachers/lecturers) too many criminals in this country.. in fact, 3 out of every 5 Nigerians has a criminal mind.

An average Nigerian police officer is a heartless kidnapper.

grin NPM are just criminals in uniform.Little differentiates them from armed robbers because they exhibit all the character traits of an armed robber.
Imagine a police officer turning into a kidnapper.
These people are accursed, that's why they die a violent death.
