Job Title: Senior Metallurgical Engineer.
Location: Ikorodu (Lagos)

Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer to oversee our raw material management operations. You will possess a deep understanding of material handling procedures. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize raw material usage, reduce costs, and ensure a consistent supply of high-quality materials.

Key Responsibilities:
-Monitor and manage overall activities to ensure efficient and effective management of raw materials, finished goods, consumable stores, and raw material transfer/issue to process departments.
-Demonstrate expertise in material handling and stacking techniques for various types of materials, ensuring proper storage and handling practices.
-Coordinate closely with process owners to gather stock transfer details and ensure accurate and timely updates in system activities.
-Manage transportation activities, including scheduling, route planning, and carrier selection, to optimize logistics and minimize transportation costs.
-Oversee and manage all required system setups implemented by the organization to streamline raw material management processes.
-Lead and manage departmental activities, providing training and guidance to team members to enhance system efficiency and continuous improvement.
-Serve as an effective communicator with strong presentation skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
-Build and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues from other departments, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
-Demonstrate a thorough understanding of general safety rules and their effectiveness in preventing accidents and maintaining a safe working environment.

Qualification:
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
-Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in raw material handling activity in a manufacturing industry, preferably in a steel manufacturing industry.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
