I would suggest to the government to put a 1meter clearance barrier at 500m before the bridge. A bell/alarms and visual lighting alerts should come up to indicate that if you hit the barrier, you will hit the bridge.

Actually, all drivers are also suppose to know the vertical heights of the vehicle they are driving.
