Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has declared that the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu should not double as the Minister of Petroleum.

Sanusi made the submission on Thursday while speaking at The Bank Directors Summit held at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

According to him, the advice is necessary in order to have someone who can be held accountable because if anything goes wrong in the petroleum sector, people would not want to speak against the President.

The former Emir of Kano also called for the audit of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), noting that this call was what cost him his job as the CBN Governor.

“Let me advise that the idea of the president being petroleum minister. The last president was minister of petroleum for eight years.

“When I was governor of CBN, we had a petroleum minister. So when we talk about NNPC, I could attack Diezani, now nobody can talk about petroleum because in 8 years if you talk, you are attacking the president,” he said.

President Tinubu upon assumption of office, split the Ministry of Petroleum Resources with the appointment of Ekperipe Ekpo as Minister of State, Gas Resources; and Heineken Lokpobiri as Minister of State, Petroleum Resources but retained the position of substantive Minister of Petroleum Resources for himself.

This follows the style of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari who also doubled as the Minister of Petroleum during his tenure.

But Sanusi stated during his talk that the President shouldn’t be the Minister of Petroleum as well.

Tinubu is copying the disastrous parts of his electoral fraud benefactor,Buhari, who couldn't revive the refineries or the petroleum sector and was receiving salaries and kickbacks from corruption as both the president and minister of petroleum respectively.

Sadly I concur, expect if God intervenes. Nigeria's problem is more than the presidency. When corruption is institutionalized, then this is what you get.

I remember when Buhari appointed himself as the minister for petroleum.

The entire North were happy and chanted a man with integrity would perform excellently well and would fight all oil thieves and they even promised functional refineries and so on....

But when it became worse, they keep shutting up and refused to say anything, while the entire Yorubas who supported him took it very personal to defend him.

Now a Yoruba is replicati8the same thing and the North are the first to speak against it.

So watch how they will chicken out and respect them for advising them....

What I know is that, the North lords over the SouthWest.

Most Northern leaders are just hypocrites.
Buhari was petroleum minister for 8 years, you never said a word.

Anyways, I don’t expect anything less from an emir who turbaned a former accountant of the federation after being indicted for stealing over 100 billion naira.

what else is Tinubu forging right now using the seal of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which will bring shame and dishonor to Nigeria and her citizens in many years to come ?

what criminal act is he committing with the office of President of Nigeria ? Is he using the Presidential plane to ferry drugs for his cartel ?

What blackmail is Tinubu under right now making him a puppet of someone who knows too much about his past with rock solid evidence ?

Who is he using Nigeria’s wealth to buy their silence right now ?

hmmmm - these are the things I think about more than the circus our media and National Assembly is creating with press men and legislators being active clowns in service

Whatever is going on with Tinubu- I know for sure it’s not for the good of the common man in Nigeria 🇳🇬 Kaduna Nzeogwu spirit, please possess a few in the military right now 😡

🔝🔝🔝🔝🛢️🛢️⛽️⛽️⛽️🛢️🛢️🔝🔝🔝🔝

I've always said it.

So long as the old NNPC GMD, Kyari,
who destroyed the Petroleum sector is
retained, no amount of reforms can save
the economic fortunes of this country..

But again, Tinubu must have decided to
retain him because Tinubu and his proxies
we're neck deep in the subsidy scam that
has crippled the nation, of which we the
citizens are being forced to part remedy the
situation by the astronomical price of fuel.

We also know that NNPC under same Kyari
bought Oando Oil ( owned largely by the Tinubu people) in a covered up sweetheart deal.

It is therefore now a very shady situation,
where the same Tinubu has now become the Minister for Petroleum & very convenient
for his personal interests to retain his
partner in crime..❌❎❌

Criminals have taken control of Nigeria❗️❗️😭😭😭😭
