I wonder why all these mofos keep making excuses for tinubu, they all know what they’re doing.

We keep hearing that Nigeria is rich but honestly, take away corruption and what Nigeria makes in revenue is still too low.

The politicians however would rather steal the stipends Nigeria is making rather than thinking of productively increasing Nigeria's revenue.

In short, Nigeria doesn't have money and all our politicians are not productive to increase Nigeria's wealth.

This country's resource base cannot sustain the population. It's better we divide as soon as possible!

how did you arrive at your conclusion that "This country's resource base cannot sustain the population"?

which resources are you talking about?

which resources will be enough to sustain the population?

President Tinubu should spare Nigerians more agony by refusing any advice from IMF, World Bank and WEF.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with Nigeria's revenue.

IMF, World Bank are not the most honest of people

They suggest doom and then act like Innocents

They know subsidy was scam and yet still advised it be removed.

If fuel sold for #145 when subsidy was paid, how much should it sell if subsidy was removed?

#290? #300? #500?

How much subsidy was paid at the price of #145?

Was it #350?

Subsidy for me is when the government pays part or half of what the commodity is worth, so what took the fuel pump price to #600?

And yet they they say the generated revenue is not enough for development.

If Nigeria is developed, it won't make the abundant natural resources cheap for producers like the West, Europe and Asia to buy so the secret is to keep Nigerians and Africa underdeveloped so every resources will stay cheap while they sell products expensive back to us.

Nigeria as a country should never have existed in the first place. It is too big with too many cultural, tribal and religious differences to be able to progress in unity into a great country. Best thing is to divide, let all regions go their separate ways and develop according to the best of their ability in peace.

What is the IMF saying?
You were here during the 8- yrs of Buhari - but instead of you to talk, mum was your spectacle as Nigeria borrowed continuosly and in all fronts!
Your Organisation supposed to be an Economic guardian that guarrantee enough returns for to the turbulent World and the Populace, but you failed woefully, but now you are coming out of your shelf!
What a contradictory statements!
Nigeria will surely come stronger,so we don't believe you!

We continue.to sat this but naysayers, praise singers and fanatics will continue propping up the status quo.

A deeply rooted culture of 'contracting' instead of 'doing', producing stuff which promotes all sorts of antisocial vices from corruption to rent seeking.

That only a visionary, purposeful, leadership operations in ultra high fidelity can change. We are yet to get leaders that will 'put the Nigerian to work.' Leaders that are prepared to roll up their sleeves and comit 'class suicide'.

We may have oil but WE ARE NOT ARABS. Our prosperity will not come from the ground, but from the works of our hands and the sweat off our brows.

We should immediately STOP BORROWING and START WORKING. We must as a nation immediately enter into loan rehab and start living by our means.

It takes real leadership to do that. The IMF must tell those who visit them cap in hand the hard truth TO THEIR FACES not.to hapless citizens in meaningless press releases. Citizens that have sold their right o good governance to sentiment.

I'm surprised the IMF is still advising the CBN to hike rates to tackle inflation, even though it is abundantly clear that the current inflation in this country is not demand driven but rather due to the increasing cost of doing business.

For emphasis, the fuel subsidy removal and devaluation of the naira are the major reasons we are witnessing this unprecedented level of inflation and not because of excess liquidity in the system.

So, Hiking of rates would rather cause more harm than good as it will further increase the debt burden of this government which is already neck deep in debts as the major borrower in the financial markets..

On the issue of low revenue to GDP, I think it is rather as a result of under declaration and leakages of revenue being collected, as opposed to low collection. If the government is serious, it should start by plugging the loopholes.

The suggestion of more taxes also at this time without first creating employment opportunities and improving the ease of doing business is also wrong. It will rather encourage businesses to become more clever at tax avoidance.

Businesses already produce their own power and security, without any form of support from government and you will be crazy to believe they will be happy to pay more taxes under these very difficult conditions.

Over the years we have been spoilt by petrodollar. Governments at all levels don't task themselves on how to generate revenue.

It has been share the petrodollar. The citizens have gotten used to life of subsidy. Now the petrodollar has dried up. It's time to generate before spending.

The entire nation would have been insolvent if subsidy on petroleum products and dollar were not removed. Governance would have halted at all levels.
