This one loud.

However, a quick search shows that the house was sold in 2013 for $480,000.

So that means the man bought it in 2013 for $480k and it’s currently worth $1,013, 000 in 2023.

Saharareporters should have given that details.

Let’s even say the wife has been in USA working in corporate America, a house of $480k in 2013 is still a big purchase I guess. But I think reporting the actual thing as it goes will give people more details on this.

When will all this foolishness and madness end. That property won't add value to his life, when he dies,he will not be buried there.

That money could have been used to establish industries in Nigeria that will boost economic development

Corruption fight was one battle millions thought Buhari was not only going to stamp out,but at worst give it a hard fight,by rooting out many corrupt people,no matter who they are because corruption is rightfully said, one of the main hindrances to our development.
But Buhari came and not just overlooked many corrupt deeds, but actually embraced corruption and the corrupt.
Since we lost that golden opportunity with Buhari, based on the false integrity they claimed he had,no one should expect even a fiddle of a fight from Tinubu:he has lived and embraced corruption and criminal deeds almost his entire adult life.

That was the first thing I did. Google the address. US homes will show all the details including time house was sold or bought. How come Sahara reporter based in US will not know when the house was bought and for how much. This house was bought in 2013 for $480,0000. The scream of mudslinging. Like he was particularly targeted. More so, houses can be bought over 35 years in US. That way you only paying $3000 monthly. This is definitely a huge money knowing the Army won't pay him that kind of money legitimately but Sahara should be fair in their reporting
They are fond of exaggerating in their reports. Fire outbreak incident for example, the way they will report it, you will think fire engulfed the entire building

You will later discover that it was just a room that was affected.

The building got renovated obviously.

You won’t see the owner name on public record like that. It’s very easy in USA to know when a house got sold.

Just type the address of the house on real estate websites like Zillow and etc, most of them will have the date.

God bless you. He most likely got that house on mortgage at least and if his wife lives in USA, she might buy it with her husband sponsoring her or even her sponsoring herself if she has a good job.

People with 2 years working experience buy houses here. An entry level software engineer can get a house within his first 2 years on mortgage if that is his priority.

That's not the same house.

Type the address on Google yourself. It’ll show the house.

Maybe my screenshot did another house or it got renovated. But from all real estate sources, the house got sold in 2013.

You can also verify it yourself. You don’t need Saharareporters for that.

RE: EXCLUSIVE Million-dollar US Property Acquired By Nigerian Army General In Charge Of Logistics, Akerejola Uncovered As Soldiers Lament Poor Welfare, Obsolete Equipment

The Nigerian Army has noted with great concern the deliberate and concerted efforts to mislead the public by Sahara Reporters through a mischievous and smear campaign against the Chief of Logistics (Army) Major General Erema Akerejola over an unfounded allegation of a property in the United States with proceeds from contract scams.

Ordinarily, this bogus accusation would not have necessitated any reaction from the Nigerian Army, however, because the Nigerian Army holds transparency and accountability as some of its core values, it is necessary to set the record straight.

First and foremost, the property in question, located in the United States, was indeed acquired 12 years ago on a monthly mortgage basis, which is still being paid by Mrs Akerejola, who has lived and worked in the US for the past 19 years.

Alluding to insinuations that the owner of the property comes from a poor background is a slap on the face of every hardworking Nigerian, who has made something positive of themselves, despite their birth circumstances.

It is important to note that General Akerejola was only appointed about 6 months ago as the Chief of Logistics Nigerian Army, while the property was acquired about 12 years ago. Accordingly, the vague report intentionally failed to mention the year of acquisition. Therefore, ignoring those details in order to achieve sensationalism and satisfy his thirst to mischievously mislead the public was rather the ulterior motive. Little wonder, the writer did not provide any shred of proof for the story, other than the supposed words of unnamed sources, who appear disgruntled, if at all, they even exist.

It is expedient to state that the real intention or otherwise of the infamous online media in publishing such toxic concoctions at this critical period is targeted at causing disaffection and shaking the table within the Army. The NA's commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity remains unwavering and would not condone any form of corruption or fraudulent activities within its ranks.

It is regrettable that such unfounded allegations have been made against a highly respected officer of the Nigerian Army who has a distinguished record of service and has consistently demonstrated utmost professionalism and dedication to duty throughout his career.

We urge the public to exercise caution and refrain from spreading false information capable of tarnishing the reputation of individuals who have dedicated their lives to the service of our nation. We also implore the media to carry out their responsibilities with the highest level of professionalism, ensuring that accurate and verified information is disseminated to the public.

The Nigerian Army remains committed to its mission of protecting the territorial integrity of our great nation and serving as a force for good. We will continue to hold ourselves accountable to the Nigerian people and operate with transparency and integrity at all times.

It must be asserted that the NA under the current leadership has remained resolute in carrying out its constitutional role and will vigorously continue to implement welfare programmes for the benefit of all personnel. Troops deployed in ongoing operational engagements are putting in their best in defence of the nation and should be encouraged, rather than plotting disaffection amongst them.

We assure the public that any allegation of wrongdoing within our ranks will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with the provisions of the law. The Nigerian Army remains committed to upholding the trust reposed on it by Nigerians.
