The beginning is with an opinion article in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz by writer and analyst Amos Harel, in which he said that the grand promises made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his army commanders about destroying the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza are an issue that cannot be achieved on the ground. This is what Harel attributes to fundamental shortcomings in the strategic planning of the Israeli forces active in the ground operation in Gaza, in addition to the lack of preparedness of reserve soldiers in the Israeli army. The Israeli newspaper Maariv had indicated in a lengthy analysis that the misleading Israeli narrative about the victory of the occupation army in Gaza had been cracked, after it was exposed and lost in the media war in front of public opinion. The Israeli newspaper asked about the last time the occupation army achieved a victory after the 1967 aggression.

She asked her readers a question, saying: “Have we thought about the possibility that our army is unable to win today? During the past years, the Israeli people used to accuse politicians of preventing the army from achieving the desired victory, but today the situation seems to be completely different.” She added: "The army has become unable to outperform the Hamas movement, which does not have an air force, tanks, ships, or an Iron Dome worth billions of dollars. Rather, all Hamas has is a group of drones."

The controversial article in "Maariv" is added to Western and even Hebrew media reports that refute Tel Aviv's allegations in general, including those in which it accused Hamas fighters of killing children and assaulting women during the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation. But 65 days after the Israeli ground and air attacks on Gaza, which according to international observers and politicians were devoid of any signs of military victory, the occupation army appears to be following another method to hide its repeated failures and convince the Israelis that it is achieving a field victory. By firing bullets at the walls of buildings whose residents were forcibly displaced from Gaza.

On the other hand, the episode provides new details about the oil tanker that the Houthis fired a cruise missile at as it entered Bab al-Mandab on its way to Israel. The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation revealed that the Norwegian ship whose course in the Red Sea was intercepted by the Houthi group "was scheduled to arrive at the port of Ashdod, early next January."

The authority said: “The Norwegian ship Strinda, which was hit by a missile fired by the Houthis off the coast of Yemen, was supposed to enter the port of Ashdod on January 4.” The Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that the ship Astrinda was carrying chemicals and was heading to the port of Ashdod, "and was supposed to dock there on the fourth of January."

The Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said in a statement: “The naval forces of the Yemeni armed forces carried out a qualitative military operation against the Norwegian ship Astrinda, which was loaded with oil and headed to the Israeli entity. It was targeted with a suitable naval missile.” He added that the Houthi forces "succeeded during the past two days in preventing the passage of several ships that responded to the warnings of the Yemeni naval forces, and did not resort to targeting the Norwegian ship loaded with oil until its crew rejected all warning calls." Saree pointed out that the Houthi operations come as "a victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people, who are currently being subjected to killing, destruction and siege in the Gaza Strip, and in response to the calls of the free people of our great Yemeni people and the people of our nation." He reiterated his assertion that "our forces continue to prevent all ships of all nationalities heading to Israeli ports from navigating in the Arab and Red Seas until they bring in what our steadfast brothers in the Gaza Strip need in terms of food and medicine."
