It's time that Southwesterners begin to understand that SS and SE doesn't have the culture of servitude and submission. We do not tolerate godfatherism in any guise, we do not build strongmen. I don't know why they keep imposing their ideas on others as if they have a superior culture undecided

For God's sake the position of Osinbajo as vice president qualified him better to run as at time.

This statement alone by akande has shown that Tinubu is a wacky politician. A smart politician wouldn't have overestimated wike.

He overestimated wike and misjudged the political environment he is coming from, thinking Rivers is Yorubaland where they baptize their helplessness and docility as sophistication.

Wike has never been smart or strong, he plays politics of betrayal instead of strategy. Betrayal is a one way game; if you betray someone, make sure you will never need their help again. Therefore, when you rise by betrayal, your fall will be epic.

He betrayed Amaechi

Betrayed the rest of the Igbos who were his major base in 2015 and 2019

Betrayed BIAFRAN freedom fighters who believed he was fighting for freedom too

Betrayed ethnic minorities in River state through marginalisation.

Betrayed rivers voters during presidential election.

Time to receive his own.
Spot on!

If he had worked for peter Obi across SS, he would have been another king maker in Nigeria and still be relevant. From his ambition to become VP to a FCT minister.

Tinubu used him to block Obi votes in River State. If he had worked for LP in the entire SS., igbos would be worshipping him now. Tinubu wouldn't have won the election without wike.

God fatherism has been a Nigerian thing not a Yoruba thing but the Yoruba politician and masses are weak, docile and too slavish in mindset to confront it unlike in the typical Igbo political environment where former governors are immediately confined to the garbage dump of political oblivion once they try to dictate to the incumbent. I'm happy south south are learning from Igbos.

Is lagos not part of SW? He he did not do badly in NC. Wike spoilt his votes in River and SS at large. Wike is a powerful political figure in the region. If he had openly declared for Obi, election would be tense.

Godfatherism must die in Nigerian politics.

Adedibu vs Ladoja.
Tinubu vs Ambode
Aregbesola vs Oyetola

Oshiomole vs Obaseki

Now Wike vs Fubara

It is used to be a yoruba thing now spreading to SS.

The Godfather wants to use the sitting governor as a rook.

Greed will not allow Nigeria to grow.

Kwankwaso vs Ganduje

Contesting against him at the primaries posed a risk of having Ameachi have majority vote

.
It's other way round. As a sitting vice president he has right of first refusal, which Tinubu didn't accord him because of financial muscle and influence. Tinubu is the backbiter here.

Note that a seat is quite different from a position. They are two incomparable issues. Even a governor can leave a seat for an elder as omoluabi.
If your dad is a responsible person that desires the growth of you, he would not have wrestled with you to mount a special seat.
Let me give you a story of a man in my place of work. In 2009, a man contacted their family and wanted to give the family a slot at one of the federal government establishment. The family sat together after the man had left, the wife said they should forward the eldest son's name but the father of the house said no, he will give the man his name. When the man saw it was the man's name and not one of his children, he queried the man and let him know that age is against him but the man vehemently refused. Alas! he sent the man's name and he was given the job at federal level in 2010. Four years ago the man retired because he was already 60 years of age. Shortly after retirement, the man died. Regrettably, his boy still roaming around to get job to feed the family while his father wasted a golden opportunity that would have lasted for long, as the guy is still a young chap.
This story is just a replica of what you're supporting and that is why the country is not moving forward at all. angry

Fubara will still be ruthlessly dealt with, irrespective of status quo.

The Great Wike is a political demigod that should never be underrated. Atiku made that mistake and paid heavily for it. How much more Fubara grin grin grin
You people always underestimate the power of a sitting governor and peculiarity of a place. Wike is able to gain ground because:
1. Rivers state peculiarity.
2. PDP factor in the state.
3. He was a sitting governor.
4. The influence of Goodluck Jonathan and his wife. If Jonathan wasn't a president then, Amaechi would have roasted him like chicken.
Remember, the power he wielded during Jonathan's regime and the influence of PDP in Rivers state gave him the leeway. His influence now is liken to that of Amaechi, Amaechi has the federal power but no local influence to influence his desire. Same way Wike will have federal power but limited local power to influence his way. Remember that Fubara has started dewing his influence and before the next election, Wike would have been a political walking corpse in Rivers state.
