No one banned foreign music in Nigeria before our own artistes make it big at the world stage, Nigerian musicians make world class content that's accepted globally. Until now American songs rule our airwaves but our guys do their homework and create homemade content that blow globally, if Ghanaians want to make to the world stardom, they should make good songs

Sour losers

Put in more work to turnaround the fortunes of Ghanaian music instead of just hating on Nigerians their big brother and others. You don't just hate or wish it away, you put in more work.

In the 90s and early 2000s, we played and loved foreign music over here to the point that we even played some in burials in villages including artists like VIP from Ghana.
But look at it now, because our boys upped their game, foreign music has taken a secondary position over here not by banning or wishing for it to go away.

Bad belle go just kill this ones. You can't live with poison in your stomach and expect to grow.
You are right. Awilo logomba comes to mind

While growing in the 90s it was all about American music but when Nigerians started making quality music we naturally switched, you can't force people to listen to trash.

They do know and it is them knowing that fuels the jealousy and resentment towards Nigerians

Nigeria & Nigerians do not only assist them in entertainment (music, movies, live events) but also economically and even academically

But alas, their hatred towards us is stronger than ever.

Wotoporiously cool speaking

Make them go find sleep sleep, if they keep going by this way it will take them years upon years to get to where we are base on entertainment.

Our awakening in the music industry wasn't built on hatred towards our neighbors, make them beg us to arrange evening lessons for them rather than hate.

They feel inferior, they believe that's what they can do to get better, but honestly, they want to remain local or national with that thinking. Heaviness is a disease, it didn't allow them to think positively cheesy
I know you want to say "enviness" but such word doesn't exist. It's simply "Envy".You can also say "Invidia" if you like.

I see nothing wrong in what they're saying. They're not saying don't play foreign music on the air ... but there should be a lot more local music. He tied this in with Ghana's huge tourist industry... tourists would expect to hear Ghanian music ... part of Ghanaian culture and not foreign music. If you go to Jamaica ... what music would you be expecting to hear? .... same if a tourists comes to Nigeria? We have a similar situation with our TV and radio presenters ... 70% or more speak with foreign strange accents.... tourists tuning in will be wondering which country on earth are they from.... they and their mixed up accents. What is wrong in promoting your own culture?

These guys are fighting fr their right but they need to be careful not to make it look like they are fighting Nigerians.Else they will end up losing this battle to Nigerians.
They can build their music industry, but it won’t get bigger than Nigerian music in one day.
No matter how much they make noise, they still need Nigerian market oh.

In the voice of Timaya,’They doesn’t know that colabo follow for promo’ They should think out of the box for the world is now a global village.
They should think of how to up their games not the way they are doing it. No man is an island.

Nigerians should stop streaming Ghanians artists. This is rubbish . There was a time VIP and tic tac were dominating Nigerian airwaves, there was a time Ghanians artists dominated the movie scene in Nigeria.

Ghanaian artistes never "dominated" our movie scene. We just dey play big bro role to them by featuring their actors and actresses in our movies

NIGERIANS

Thesame Nigerian music lovers and music artistes who consume his music and work tirelessly with him to put him on the music map

Black Sheriff has simply displayed his true colours.

The average Nigerian has no idea about the deep seated hatred, jealousy and resentment the average Ghanaian feels towards them.

He already debunk the news saying he was quoted out of context

You are WRONG.

The rise of Afrobeats can be traced to Obasanjo’s impact where around the year 2000, radio stations were ordered to play 80% Nigerian music, to counter the dominance of US/UK R&B and HipHop.

Suddenly a huge demand for local music talent ensued.

That was the beginning of the Afrobeats revolution.

You are funny, you are been taught in school like me, nothing bad in what you said, but you can't be wrong and am right, the way you think am wrong.
It's not your mother language, ones you understand my words, you have to move on and forget correction sometimes, even in subtles movies of nollywood, they speak wrong English different from what we're been taught in school. Despite its there's mother language.

Correction to your word, this is dictionary

God bless you, I forgot to mention his name. He was famous even in remote villages in Nigeria because he was good at that time. We all danced to him.

Ghanaians should go and work instead of harboring deep hatred for Nigerian artists they may never meet up if they continue on this path

Nigerian music make it to the world scene not because Nigerian government banned foreign music on our airwaves but the content of our guys is world class. As our guys started making classy songs and videos that can be compared to that of their American counterparts, we started craving for our songs and the interest in the foreign music was waning. Let Ghana banned foreign music on their airwaves and see if their music will get type of rave ours is getting. Except they make good music, they're going nowhere.
