BLACK SHERIF & OTHER GHANAIAN ARTISTS BANNED PLAYING NIGERIA & FOREIGN MUSIC IN GHANA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZLJUrlkwSM

Black sherif and other Guamanian Artists have come out publicly to Declared that they don’t want foreign music in Ghana as they demanded that all Ghanaian Tv stations, Radio, Clubs and DJ should only play Ghananian music

There really was no bad feelings here, and they had a solid point.

It's the same way we're encouraging Nigerians to buy Naija to grow the Naira, although only our musical artists have honed their skills well so far in that area. We can only pray other manufacturers perform well too.

Ghanaian artists should rather sit up and up their music instead of waiting for DJs to force their music on people's ears.

"Music no need permission to enter your spirit" Mohbad

Nigerian music make it to the world scene not because Nigerian government banned foreign music on our airwaves but the content of our guys is world class. As our guys started making classy songs and videos that can be compared to that of their American counterparts, we started craving for our songs and the interest in the foreign music was waning. Let Ghana banned foreign music on their airwaves and see if their music will get type of rave ours is getting. Except they make good music, they're going nowhere.

Small boy, stop talking rubbish.

We are telling you how and why Afrobeats became big, and it was due to the near-total ban on foreign music on Nigerian radio at the turn of the century during the OBJ administration.

That was when the likes of Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo D1 began sourcing Nigerian acts to replace the US sounds that ruled the airwaves FOR DECADES prior.

Afrobeats is simply the US R&B we partied to fused with Naija melody and groove.

People like us grew up in a Nigeria where the only music youths played was R&B and Hiphop from the US and UK.

We know exactly how it came to an end and it was via the OBJ administration.

In fact when it happened, many Nigerians were abusing OBJ and calling him a dictator and power drunk etc etc.

Today we are all reaping the benefits.
