China's foreign policy is consistent. If any country recognizes Taiwan and establishes diplomatic ties, then China will cut off diplomatic ties with that country.

Currently, only these thirteen countries (which are Belize, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Tuvalu) recognize Taiwan, and China does not have a diplomatic relationship with them.

For example on the 26th of March this year, Honduras was the latest country that swapped recognition of Taiwan to the PRC (China). Only then, China establish a diplomatic relationship with Honduras and bless them with all their gift of infrastructure, and loans and maybe be included in the BRI or even BRICS.

Taiwan doesn't have the clout China has. China is a giant. Only a very foolish leader will swap Taiwan for China because of some democracy nonsense. Even the West that supports Taiwan does not recognize it as a country. They only maintain unofficial and cultural relationships with it.
