Medical cannabis could earn tax-paying Nigerian farmers far more greenback American dollars than the total annual revenue Nigeria as a nation generates from the export of petroleum products. Lesotho, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa, Uganda, and now even Ghana, have all decriminalized cannabis as the first step towards making that cash crop a major cornerstone of their respective economies going forward.

Jakumo:

From a purely legal standpoint, getting arrested while in possession of a single marijuana joint in Nigeria COULD qualify the accused to spend TEN YEARS with hard labor as an unwilling guest of the state government's prison service. Simply declaring that those draconian and life-destroying colonial-era laws have been expunged from Nigerian lawbooks is an exercise in wishful thinking, until the day those archaic laws are finally rescinded so that a multi-billion dollar medical cannabis industry can kick off in Nigeria as it already has in South Africa, Lesotho, Malawi, Ghana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

We should certainly get there, no drugs is stronger than the ones our leaders take.

Without question Nigerians from all walks of life enjoy consuming cannabis secretly. From lawyers to legislators to doctors to police and military personnel, there are probably more stoners in Nigeria than there are alcohol consumers. yet the decriminalization of cannabis remains a pipe dream in Nigeria, even as numerous other African nations have commenced to reap huge dollar profits from the industrialized production and export of cannabis or hemp products.

NA WA. What is wrong with Cannabis?

Others are decriminalising it after it was found to be far less dangerous than alcohol.

Nigerian govt is a joke.
