25 FACTS ABOUT IBADAN CITY PICTURE FROM ANOTHER ANGLE.

- Ibadan was the largest and the most populated city in Sub-Saharan Africa (until the 70s).

- There are 11 local government areas officially in Ibadan city, 5 urban and 6 rural/peri urban. The largest in the country.

- Ibadan alone was more populated than: Enugu, Gombe, Cross-River, Sokoto, Kebbi, Edo, Benue, Bayelsa, Abia, Kwara, Adamawa, Ebonyi, Kogi, Nasarawa, Taraba, Pleatue, Ekiti, Yobe and Zamfara states in 2006.

- Ibadan is home of the first TV station in Africa (Western Nigeria Television, WNTV Ibadan 1959).

- Home of the first University in Nigeria (UI, 1948).
- Home of the first Teaching hospital in Nigeria (UCH).
- Home of the first Sport Stadium in Africa (Liberty stadium, now Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, 1945).

-Ibadan is Africa's second fastest growing city in 2022 with Lagos in 3rd, according to United Nations Habitat.

- Most populated city in Nigeria (until it was overtaken by Lagos).

- Home of the first high rise building in West Africa (Cocoa House built in 1965).

- The busiest road in Nigeria after Lagos-Abeokuta

You forgot the trademark brown roof.

You forgot to add 50% of total IGR of Ibadan state comes from Human parts business

the ancient part with brown roofs is located in a small area not up to makoko.
The areas are beree,oja oba,yemetu,agbeni down to molete,those areas are together.
If you drive pass those area,you gonna see inscriptions of years some buildings were built

The brown roof is a proof that truely the people of that geographic region have been civilized long ago.

Only God knows why the SE has so many brown roofs, meanwhile they were living in huts with thatched roofs when those Ibadan houses were the best in Nigeria.

You dey mind that foolish igbolani (igbo+fulani) combo of slave and his master. The whole 5 ibo states put together is not upto Oyo state in land mass, yet you see them celebrating some scanty "mansion " built buy ipob, cocaine selling ndi oshi.

To 95% of ibos, iboland is a just a giant cemetery, where they only go back in coffins or during burial ceremony.
