How do you grow crops where fulani herdsmen terrorists are killing and taking over communities and land and your security agencies are not willing to stop them?

How does the federal government alone go on promising heaven on earth when state governments cannot function properly in enforcing their laws, and local governments don't belong to locals anymore?

How do you make progress when military officers from ethnicities in the north robbed us by taking away our constitution with true federalism and giving us a constitution with yahoo yahoo federalism, alias unitary system? And nobody is courageous enough to say now that the military are out, let's go back to true federalism as obtainable in developed economies because you fear they will use their fraudulently gotten military advantage and voters strength against you?

You run to advanced economies to enjoy life and keep looted wealth for your future. You see how development takes place and continues there but you come back to Nigeria to do the exact opposite of things there and expect similar results. How else do we know all these presidents, Obasanjo,
Jonathan, Buhari, Tinubu, even Atiku and Obi who are hungry to be there, are empty talkers?

I can't see any meaningful plan in this speech. It has been promises as usual. They opromise that Porthacourt refinery will work by December 2023 but here we are again. Series of unfulfilled promises since the inception of APC. Though I am a Muslim, I concour that Christians are more sincere in governance. Walahi

YesGodcan:
To be fair to tinubu and his government , he has not had anything to drive the economy of Nigeria perio to 2024 because this is his first budget in office.

^^^
If fairness had anything to do with it, he shouldn't be anywhere near power, considering how poorly his predecessor from the same party performed for 8 long years. But he's there now, so that has been settled.

YesGodcan:
It is understandable that the economy will suffer after the hard and hash decision of subsidy even though I also think the decision was hasty and too hash for a country with over 86%poverty line.

^^^
He took that decision and he will have to deal with the political and economic fallout. Simple as that.

He has not suffered any personal loss from subsidy removal. He is still driven around in vehicles powered by 'free' government fuel. His children jump into official aircraft to go entertain themselves in any state of their choice. His children house, feed and entertain 'guests'...and the vice president's office picks up the bill. undecided Meanwhile...there are millions of his country people who genuinely don't know where the next 3 meals are coming from.

YesGodcan:
The situation in Nigeria since many years now has been beyond imagination especially since apc came on board but we all pray for the success of this government even though we will never stop criticising them no matter what they do.

^^^
His visit to the mosque in Lagos over the weekend should tell you exactly how his administration is going to turn out.

A 50 plus vehicle convoy snaking through filthy, garbage strewn Central Lagos streets, with scores of overzealous security agents - in a show of force targeted at who exactly? undecided Imagine if all those security men were on duty in Plateau instead - would some people not be alive today? undecided

This is the picture of the BAT presidency presented to the world.
Re: 5 Promises From Tinubu’s New Year Message by YesGodcan(m): 10:32pm On Jan 01
Ur takes here are not valid to qualify a bad government.

The president will always use high level security in a country like Nigeria., by the way, the convoy does not necessarily mean the government paid for all of them because there are supporters who will also escort his motor cade free and always.

You are also wrong to claim that tinubu has no reason being the president of Nigeria because such reason makes no
sense.

I stand to be corrected, tinubu has just began with his government and his first budget is just about to take effect therefore we will judge him by the end of his first term.

By the way, apc was a conjoined party and so buhari had his group fat different from that of tinubu. In other words, tinubu can not take responsibility for buhari's failure!

YesGodcan:

^^^
Third Fifth world will always be third fifth world. The overwhelming majority of vehicles in that convoy are government cars, full stop.

Lat's even assume your other point is valid. Well...that is even more troubling. Head of State motorcades are supposed to be high security operations. Unauthorized persons don't just 'escort' the motorcade, whether they are supporters or not. But then, we do things differently around here.

YesGodcan:
You are also wrong to claim that tinubu has no reason being the president of Nigeria because such reason makes no
sense.

^^^
Oh yes it does.

Like I said, fifth world will always be fifth world.

If a government performs poorly, voters don't reward that party with more terms in office. At least that's how its supposed to work. But like I said, we do things differently around here.

YesGodcan:
I stand to be corrected, tinubu has just began with his government and his first budget is just about to take effect therefore we will judge him by the end of his first term.

^^^
Ridiculous.

The first term you speak about is the sum total of decisions and actions taken by the administration over hours, days, weeks and months...with all of them adding up to a 4 year term. It makes no sense to withhold judgement on what the government does on a day to day basis. After all, Nigerians are not going into hibernation over that 4 year term. They live with the consequences of government choices each day over those 4 years - and so they must pass judgement on those choices.

YesGodcan:
By the way, apc was a conjoined party and so buhari had his group fat different from that of tinubu. In other words, tinubu can not take responsibility for buhari's failure!

^^^
grin

I'm not sure you really know what the word 'conjoined' means. The word literally means 'to join or combine'.

Buhari and BAT joined forces to form a new party platform. This platform was the vehicle through which they rose to power. And yet you now say there is no shared responsibility for failure? undecided Would you separate them if Buhari had succeeded?

We pray they'll not be vague and audio promises 😞
Re: 5 Promises From Tinubu’s New Year Message by YesGodcan(m): 11:22pm On Jan 01
So if tinubu is judged to have failed after his time then you can as well attribute the failure to buhari who is already long gone because he is still in apc?

Day to day decisions. So since tinubu has been there for about 7months already and made numerous decisions, he should step aside because he has already failed. There are terms and hours don't count as terms. People can always learn from their mistakes if any within a period and by the end they still make good marks or pass marks.

Your shield of " third or fifth worlds sounds childish or uninformed. First you can not compare Nigeria to America or UK because such makes no sense. Nigeria should not even be compared to India or south africa.

Nigeria is and can only be compared to Kenya, Senegal and it's likes except you don't know history. And Nigeria is doing better than its peers because of its size of population otherwise Nigeria should be compared to Ghana at most.

By the way, western world is only good for its own citizens and not for foreigners and I find it funny when people spend some times in Western world and begin to judge them good. There is nothing good in the western world for foreigners especially for African immigrants.

We need no be honest with our selves and stop this hypocrisy of (we should be like Americans) and all that.

Little did you know that 98% of the problems and corruptions in Nigeria and africa at large is planed and instigated by the western world.

Let us learn to be proper adults and reason what we see with common sense rather than pretence or childish imaginations.

Buhari once said that the insecurities in Nigeria is coursed by foreigners and people quickly attributed it (foreigners) to Mali and Chad, how daft

Fair enough.

The key point is the willingness to learn from past mistakes. Without it, failure at the end of the term is inevitable.

Alright, we have made some progress grin

Self growth, this is an area Peter Obi is advocating for the most especially as he ventured deep and closer into the Nigerian society during the campaign., Peter Obi surprisingly noticed that an average Nigerian( over90%) was very short in "human development"

This point (self growth) is Nigeria's poorest reality and not money, roads, or electricity as most people aways assume. Peter Obi called it "dimensional poverty" buhari called it "lazy youths" all these names mean same thing.

Over 90% of Nigerian graduates today can be classified as illiterates 🤣 especially people who graduated between Yr 2000 till date.

The English people has a say (money does not guarantee success) and you will be asking, then 'what is money' and what is success shocked.

Happy new year to us 🍾 as we wish Nigeria success in 2024🙏

As for Tinubu and his promises, even he himself knows that he cannot keep them.

Even his New Year speech couldn't sparogatively highlight one substantial achievement of his government so far, and he boldly flaunted an 'agreement' to 'fast track' the incompetent 'Buhari's Siemens project' as one of his achievements.

Shame on supporters of Mediocrity!
