Let's Support, Not Attack Tinubu’s Government, Benjamin Kalu Urges South East by Metrix147: 8:51am On Jan 03
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and member representing Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has appealed to the people of South East to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying the president is interested in the region's development.

Speaking virtually on the ‘South East Political Roundtable’, a current affairs radio programme on FLO FM in Umuahia on Tuesday monitored by AbnTV, the Deputy Speaker expressed concern on the continuous detention of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, saying his release is achievable.

He said the President needs to be convinced that the people of South East have realized that he (Tinubu) did not contribute anything to Nnamdi Kanu’s incarceration, urging that the government should be supported.

Kalu is also the initiator of the recently unveiled Peace In South East Project (PISE-P), a non-kinetic approach to achieving peace in the region.

“We are working underground. There’s a detailed strategy. It’s not by violence, you can’t coerce the government through violence. It has never worked and won’t work. Let’s be wiser. The wisdom is in peace. Let’s quench the violence.

“If it’s chaotic, it won’t work. Let’s cool down. Let the man see that you’ve recognised he didn’t contribute to locking him up and that he has not done anything to the southeast. We should support him and his government and not attack him.

I’m standing firmly against the voice of violence, preaching peace. That is what I’m here for, this voice of peace will echo through the Villa and he will come out. Mr President was happy with what happened in Bende. That the whole country can gather together and support this project", he said.

If this man truly knows his people, he would have known that we only support people who are doing the right thing.

You cannot be squandering Nigeria's money and be telling people to endure hardship and still expect sane people to support you.

Benjamin should learn from okorocha, kalu and others. Use them against their people and frustrate him.

Damnnn niggar

Nice advice though

But my prayers still remain like this

If you criticise Jonathan, Buhari and now you no longer want to criticise tinubu because of tribalism and religion sentiments may you and your children know no peace
If you were gingered in 2012 protest when Jonathan removed subsidy and you were part of the protest but now you suddenly lost your voice for a protest when the suffering under tinubu is getting worse may you and children know no peace

The level of tribalism and religion sentiments going on in this country is getting worse

Now for all those rejoicing in my first prayer
I will also say this if you did not criticise Jonathan and Buhari but quick to criticise tinubu now may you and your family know no peace

We must unite against our politicians because they have united against us

They support or don't support him, it changes nothing.

Jagaban remains the President till 2027!

Instead of focusing on people who have no direct or even indirect influence on the governance of this nation, why not channel the energy into ensuring that those in office are getting the job done?!!

Cos it's results that matter eventually.

If the results are good or bad, it affects both supporters and haters equally.

The outcomes of good and bad governance don't discriminate between supporters and haters in the citizenry.

Someone should tell this man to tell his president that the only way to get genuine support is through good governance that his principal is not administering.

I should support increasing insecurity, worsening exchange rate and higher inflation? You no well.

Yeah, we only support kerosene distributing Governors and colonel Mazi Ekpa. We criticize others while our region rots away in poverty and lack of economic viability. Ndewo!!!

It's really not about benefits. It's also not about Tinubu.

For a country to move forward, the citizens have to support the government and criticize constructively when the need arises. Yes, the Nigerian government has repeatedly failed the masses and it's difficult to continue to trust our leaders.

But this is a new regime and the president remains there for at least 4 years, with or without any region's support.

The wise thing is to collectively see how we can move the country forward and continue to call out the leaders whenever they misbehave.
