The federal government (FG) spent N57.8 billion on the procurement of rice for distribution to senatorial districts and federal constituencies by senators and House of Representatives members.

Under the Christmas/End of Year Palliative Programme, trailer loads of rice worth N100 million were expected to be distributed by each of the 360 representatives.

Each of the 109 senators was expected to distribute rice worth N200 million.

However, many of the legislators are yet to receive the delivery of the rice.

Few legislators who have distributed them inadvertently opened the floodgates of criticisms against those yet to distribute.

Last year, the federal government also gave N2 billion to each of the 36 governors for palliatives in their respective states.

News like this is not healthy for ones brain. Given the fact that you can't reconcile it with reality on ground.

I pray this current administration doesn't end up like the previous one. God help them

These people should just stop this palliative nonsense. It is just an avenue to loot & misappropriate funds.

Anything palliative should be a temporary relief for victims of earthquakes & other natural disasters.

APC is a govt of jamboree. They waste money on things that can't benefit the general population. Worst of it all is that they borrowed these money just to waste it.

All these cash transfers and cash sharing that APC govt have been sharing since, what's the long lasting benefit of such initiatives.... Nothing. Just money wasted down the drain.

Over 500b have been shared so far since 2016, yet they keep sharing.

If this money was used to build an industry or railway spanning north to south, is it not better.

Oh boy.

As much as I'm not doubting the authenticity of these allegations, it would be more professional if articles like these come with either a picture, a memo (like Betta Edu's).

This piece just sounded like one of them Sahara reporter's article.

That being said, there is practically nothing that is impossible in Nigeria.

Nothing!
