I haven't gotten a single job interview on LinkedIn and indeed, the few ones are got are from LinkedIn and a teaching job.
The teaching job is either very far from my place or a very poor salary! Already, I lost interest in teaching even before this time.

I went for an interview in ifo Ogun state, a government approved private secondary school, and the principal proudly informed me that they pay graduates 30K.. This school celebrated her 23rd year anniversary recently and you're paying graduates 30k?? And you expect me to leave SANGO to Ifo, just to take 30k he was even requesting for my original result and referees!

I took my loses and left, after I assured them that I will resume on Monday (yesterday), right now I'm still job hunting but I'm actually not interested in teaching anymore, maybe in Lagos they pay well, definitely not here.

The other jobs I applied for like, sales marketing, receptionist, virtual receptionist and so on, none ever replied me.

Am I doing something different? I am new to job hunting so how do y'all find and locate jobs?

Companies look for workers with experience.
So to get an experience u need get a job with a little pay. Before other companies can review ur cv

LinkedIn is worth it. But you see indeed and jobberman ? They are full of scammers and fake job listings. They can advertise for a position and when you get there it all NEW LIFE and NEOLIFE

Also for LinkedIn it's good to post articles around your toolset, network, join Groups, I've gotten employed off LinkedIn and gotten contract jobs but not much.

Also if you are a virtual assistant, join a group, find out the tool of the trade, learn, have a portfolio.

Applying for jobs on LinkedIn no longer cuts anymore, you have to go beyond.

Op, we can't say this enough...! The Digital age is upon us.

White Collar jobs are disappearing faster than you can imagine... The revolution started with COVID.

The continued emergence of Artificial intelligence now makes it even worse.

You have to sit down, find a niche in the digital world, and fully equip yourself with the soft skills needed by emerging employers... Who knows, you can become your own boss.


LinkedIn is just a community of professionals across different fields... They interact and showcase their skills from time to time, while finding ways to reach out to one another.

This takes time, patience, and consistency... It won't happen overnight. You have to build up your online presence and portfolio.

Indeed on the other hand caters mostly to foreign workers and job seekers. It rarely favors Nigerians in Nigeria.

Regardless of what you do, linkedin and Indeed work. I am talking from the perspective of accomplished freelancers on both platforms. Before you start, understand who your ideal clients are and where you can find them. Are they on LinkedIn or indeed? RemoteOk or WellFound? Defining your goals will streamline your prospecting and ensure your actions on any of the platforms align with those goals.

If I could see a sample of your CV and cover letter I might be able to tell you what the problem is. I suspect that you simply aren't the best fit for most of these jobs. The market is quite competitive and if you look well you'll see that even the "smallest" of obs advertised on Linkedin has hundreds of applicants.

I'm still of the opinion that salary paying job is slavery irrespective of the salary.

I have good news for degree holders, don't let people know you have a degree;just go out there like those without degree and hustle your way up!

It’s funny when I read certain post like this ,you don’t really need a job ,learn digital marketing.

Few Tips.Start with YouTube

1.Choose to sell a digital product or physical product (source on Jiji)
2.Learn how to run paid facebook advert
3.Learn how to design sales page using Wordpress

You can start this while job hunting,you will employ more hands within 3 to 6 months once you’re focused.

I work full time in UK and I still have more than 10 workers running my e-commerce business in Nigeria .
Starting is the most difficult aspect ,you will be fine .
