A career in cyber security continues to grow in this digital age. Starting as a cybersecurity analyst has become a demanding professional now. The cyber security job demand has risen significantly over the past few years. Statistics show more than 1 million cybersecurity jobs will be open next year. However, approximately 40000 cyber security professionals will have gained training.

Is cyber security a good career path? or not? In this article, I will discuss the cybersecurity career roadmap, types of cybersecurity jobs and cybersecurity salary ranges. Also, the education requirements and cyber security course to be qualified for prospective cybersecurity jobs. So, let's learn five common career paths within the high-demand cybersecurity field.

Many people who want to know how to start a career in cyber security with no experience. But the real fact is, before starting a cyber security career, you have to make a framework. Make a plan for how you obtain and improve skills to be a good cyber security analyst.
As a cyber security analyst, you can take your career in five directions, depending on your goals and interests.

1. Engineering
Cybersecurity engineering roles can be divided into some of these job titles:
i) Security Engineer
ii) Application Security Engineer
iii) Network Security Engineer
iv) Cloud Security Engineer

Prerequisite:
-Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology or cyber security
-To become a CISO, try to earn special qualifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

-Analytical and problem-solving skills

2. Incident Response

ii) Security Control Assessor

Prerequisite:
-understanding legal and compliance issues and strong analytical skills.
-A background in law or business can be advantageous.

5. Testing & Hacking

-Formal Degree in computer science or a related field
- Acquire relevant certifications like Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or Certified Penetration Tester (CPT)
