The case is about his assets (a particular property or properties), and not net worth. The banks he took a loan from said he did nothing wrong, and they do that all the time. It is a normal practice in NY to inflate property value, the banks did their due diligence and one question to answer here is who are the victims?

Read part of the closing argument, may be it will help. Trump defrauded the state of New York, and his legal team kept on blaming Estate Valuer, the accountants etc , except Trump himself. Trump would be heavlily fined with the losses of his properties in New York, including the Trump Tower.
