I think before talking about the price or what to expect, CHECK his CEMENT price that is being manufactured here in Nigeria and the PRICE outside in our NABOURING country, even some importers and engineers at one time said it will be cheaper if they are allowed to import CEMENT, let's use our tongue to count our teeth, my wish is for us not to buy it higher or same, because if you sabi 9ja well you suppose no say nothing our politicians no fit do, and nothing go still happen, if he will sell for at least 500/L we go manage am 2 Likes |

The reason why petroleum prices are high in Nigeria is because importation of the products, demurrage charges, taxes, etc were all paid in dollars to the foreign refinery owners and their government. Marketers have to source for hard currency to import the product. When the products finally arrive Nigeria, customs will collect their own charges too. With the refining of the products in Nigeria all the hard currency that marketers source for to import it has been eliminated. Also foreign taxes have also be eliminated. We are now refining our own products. So if Dangote refuses to bring down the price,he is a greedy business man because even the loans he used to build the refinery were provided by Nigerians. |

jcflex:what are you saying , do you know the loan on this Refinery needs to be repaid ? Itβs not a charity business . Even any attempt to bring it down beyond competitive pricing( which can be achievable when other players step in , right now he is the only player )will lead to smuggling of products to neighboring countries |

Throwback: You are on point, but Dangote is too greedy for all these. I believe he will maintain the current price, perhaps his own would be slightly expensive. 1 Like |

Re: Marketers Await Dangote Petroleum Product Price List by deenee: 10:25pm On Jan 13 |
Throwback: You are correct but it won't be automatic. He has alot of expats working on site paid in dollars. The cost of this and currency devaluation of the NGN to USD will be passed on to the end user. Ultimately prices will find a common ground once operations is at full capacity |
Re: Marketers Await Dangote Petroleum Product Price List by nairalanda1(m): 10:31pm On Jan 13 |
Chicagograduate: 1.The loans were not provided by Nigerians. About one third of the loans came from Nigerian banks, most of the rest came from AfDB and international banks. CBN came in with some extra cash. (since repaid). 2. You are very right about all them costs gone however, Dangote still has to a) Pay salaries that are globally competitive, and they have to be paid out of the profits made. b) Pay taxes, and pay back loans. (If Lagos is not going to tax the refinery, then Dangote really has them in his pocket. We never even talk Federal government taxes). c). Pay maintenance costs, expansion costs, etc. The experts believe prices may come down by N70. They are being darn optimistic. Prices would only come down once government gets realistic, totally removes subsidy, which means domestic refining becomes profitable for smaller players to come in and set up modular refineries with financing from our banks. |

Alba3: Dangote does not owe the masses anything. We run a capitalist economy largely driven by profit plus how do you expect him to pay off the loans Now to your post. Crude is priced per opec pricing and even better to price in dollars than naira because naira pricing means devaluation will reduce any cost savings Plus he has alot of expat working on site paid dollars. He currently has about 3k Nigerian engineers in training to take over the Indians. He has to do special training for the Nigerian engineers to avoid stories that touch at the refinery and because apparently our Nigerian engineers are desk top engineers just like we have alot of desk top analysts here....πππ In summary prices will reduce but not immediately The man is not one of our Nigerian pastors that perform TV and social media miracles. God bless Dangote God bless Nigeria |

Throwback: I don't trust all these marketers with prices issue as we can be shocked that they will start moving the products to Benin republic and other ecowas to maximize profit thereby keeping Nigerian suffering for what we produced. Its being rumoured now that some advanced payments and moves are ongoing to move larger % of first released products to other countries by weed marketers since the prices are higher than Nigeria. Pls let us help ourselves if possible by monitoring them. Take pictures and post them on social media. They normally move around 12am 4am across the border in hundreds of tankers. Law enforcement is not helping, Just imagine We Nigerian never chop bellyful and neighbors will be celebrating that Dangote has started production. We know they are bitter by removal of subsidy, now they want to catch up by all means 1 Like |

Chicagograduate:But wait oooo. Isn't NNPC the sole importer, so where is taxes and demmurage this mix? Also MNPC jave been doing crude oil swaps for Petroleum products so where is the taxes in this? You guys are just doing copy and paste from your propaganda WhatsApp group. |
Re: Marketers Await Dangote Petroleum Product Price List by Realtruth2023: 11:39pm On Jan 13 |
phemray: And who told you the subsidy has been removed? Again even with the so called subsidy removal has smuggling of fuel across the border stopped? That propaganda sold the last time has failed. |

ManirBK:It is not about been cheap. When petrol was sold for 11 naira a liter, many could not afford it and Nigeria was considered bad then too. What we need is good healthcare, superb infrastructure, abundance of food, good and well paying jobs. Industries like the Dangote refinery will provide good and well paying jobs as well as conservation of our forex. Coming with that is the spiral effects on the rest of the economy 2 Likes 1 Share |

Gas is a good deal, since the refinery will be producing gas, this will definitely boost our economy output |

Dangote price can only reduce when there's enough competition in the market, for now expect the same price |

It's all planned They used subsidy to increase it for dangote If subsidy was not removed and the fuel is still 185naira per liter, how much will dangote sell when his refinery starts? They hurriedly increased it to 600naira so when dangote starts his refinery his fuel price will be brought down to 400naira and we will cheer him to be our Messiah , then tinubu and his hang of thieves gets their share from dangote |

Dangote should have mentioned Ambode in his statement - the guy gave him land when he was being billed by Rivers people when he initially wanted to site the refinery there. |
