Very right, but you have not added logistics cost of transporting to refinery and refined product to our depot and the refining cost. Then we have landing cost and others that are added that's why 550 ex-depot price

Many are looking obsessively, with a microscope, to find even the smallest thing they can make a big deal of to declare Dangote refinery, or anything positive for Nigeria, a scam.

Those people will find thing to be negative about or to cite as proof Dangote refinery and Nigeria can never work. Simple fact logical minds appreciate is that Dangote is the richest man in Africa, or second, and very ambitious.

He is a businessman and not a politician. He goes out of his way to stay away from being overtly compromised by politics. That has been key to his monumental success.

That reality alone shows the man will not engage in any expensive white elephant project political mischief.

Dangote has expensively done his homework and expects to significantly add to his fortune with the operation and success of this refinery. He will achieve that in my opinion.

Sadist, negative losers and doom mongers can take that to the bank.

He is even if sadistic haters and doom mongers will say otherwise. He had the bravery, vision and capacity for taking calculated risks that led to taking on this huge project and making it a reality.

Dangote refinery is the largest single-train refinery in the world and all positive Nigerians will be proud of him and encouraged by his achievement.

Let Dangote make his money and Nigeria benefit economically also. Good and mutually beneficial
relationship we hope to see more of.

Some of us who are positive, patriotic and progressive should be encouraged by Dangote to understand we too can partner with government to do similar in many sector, even if on a much smaller scale, to gain success for ourselves and aid the economic success/growth of our nation.

That thing is not a govt project.

This is the kind of internal investment that can be subsidies for Nigerian just like in Saudi, because we don't need dollar to subsidize the product through dangote, Naira will be the mode of transaction my fear now is we the citizen some people will see the gesture as a way to make money outside the country by smuggling

God bless the aliko and the federal government of Nigeria. Just started production and now, refined products are already in the storage facility. This will help this administration kick off and gradually begin to ease suffering on the Nigerian populace. I implore the president to follow this up with strong eye towards every corruption loopholes among political office holders. The anger immigration officers are dishing out towards those who registered online is a classical case that we can fight corruption if we are serious about digitisation. I pray for the success of this administration. That one trillion dollar economy target is realizable. If it goes well, it will benefit us all. Nigerians can't exist by adjusting to bad conditions and complaining all the time. This administration is committed to changing the narrative.

And for your calculations the current price of crude stands at about USD 78 for Nigerian brand which is about the highest grade due to its almost non existent sulphur content.

A barrel is about 159 litres

Official Dollar to Naira stands at USD 1 to N 865

1 litres cost in Naira = (usd 78 × N865/1usd) ÷ 159 litres

= N424/litres

Cost of refining crude is about usd12 per barrel which translate to about N65 per litre

Adding that to the cost brings it to about N489 per per litre.

Local transportation cost and retail margin per litre let's say 30kobo each

= N489 + 60k

= N549/litre

Now counter this with your own computation.
