Where are non government pressure groups? This is becoming too much. Why are Nigerians keeping quiet?
This is getting out of hand.
The reason white countries are good today is becus when things are bad, the influenctiers and popular among them spoke againt it. Here, the influentiers try to be quiet and mingle with politicians.
If Nigerians for example come out and say they are tired of being kidnapped and ensure that all media both local and foriegn broadcast it, believe u me, this insecurity will be solved within a month.
Why make life easy for ur politicians who have made life hell for Nigerians.
Nigerians are the most unfortunate creatures on earth becus they simply lack every thing good for living.
They have accepted the terrible economic state, they dont even have electricity, they hustle to buy their own fuel. They have moved on to cope with all of these, now, they cant even travel on their roads.
This is not fair. These people would be raped, killed and robbed. I feel so terrible.
To some people, all they care about is their region ruling but Nigerians re suffering.
Can we stop pretending on twitter and agreee that Nigeria is the worse African country ever created.
Nigeria is on life support,it has been destroyed to it's very foundation,no one is ready to fix it This is the more reasons Nigerians are migrating to saner climes

Its high time a state or emergency is declared to deal with this.
In the mean time, if you are a kidnapper or aspiring one and you are reading this, remember your sins will find you out, and you, your family, children and their generation will suffer the consequences

they are very easy to catch and the menace stopped...

how..?

keep loading buses full of armed security men, example army, who are also fortified with jazz...inside that vehicle, three drones will b in it nd all the 12 army men will b fully armed, corked nd ready to shoot...

they shld always patron that route disguised as personger vehicle, without siren or any left off..wen they are stopped some day..they shld immediately open fire at once ..all of the army men at once...nd if the bandits run into the bush...two of the armies will set out the drones above them using it as trackers and continue to pursue them into the bush till they are caught..but never let to reach the barracks...

they shld b killed after painful torture like pouring very very boiled hot oil into their opened eyes ball to giv more info...

if this happens more than 10 x acctoss all federal roads..the bandit themselves will start being scared of buses, not knowing which is secury and wi h is personger..
simple!!!

The government seems not ready for all this sef

Good suggestions you have here

the Nigerian security system is already hijacked by terrorists with the help of Northern politicians.

No, it's new: because I grew up in a time where the only kidnapping were the ritualists, and it was not as common as this.
This is .new ,. frightening dimension.
It's new and wickedly increasing.
Maybe these govt ppl are behind all this, as the evil forces they worship for power and wealth demands.

I have a better suggestion Sir. Same is cost effective and will create many job opportunities.
I think the Federal Government can purchase a lot of drones, maybe a million or two to cover and monitor real time traffic on every major roads include train tracks across the Federation....
Employ a lot of youths to handle these drones from selected command centres across the country.
These youths will work on shifts of 6 or 8 hours per drone 24/7.... (Let the repentant 'yahoo boys' occupy night shifts, they barely sleep anyways)
Their task is simple: zoom or move your drone to cover your section of the road maybe a kilometre or 2 at most.
An employee have a window of 5 minutes to go back and forth on your section of the road.
In the event of an eventuality like a kidnapping. Call for back up drones to join in the tracking of this elements while you report to the Command centre. The command centre immediately deploys your well equipped and specially trained anti-kidnapping JTF to be on their trail. Within 4 hours max, victims are reunited with their families.
I believe in a year or 2, these criminal elements will be discouraged from this ugly 'business'

Dear President Bola Tinubu sir, if you or any of your SAs or PAs or Ministers or relatives or close allies are reading, listen to my suggestion and implement it to curb this highway robbery and kidnapping that is gradually taking over Nigerian highways since 2018.

Create a new Highway Security Taskforce.

Let it be a Joint Security Taskforce that comprises: Police, Army, Airforce, NSCDC.

Why it should be a joint security taskforce is to avoid it being under the leadership of any of the existing security heads who have failed already in their various jurisdictions. And JTF is also not always easy to compromise because it will not be easy for the security officers from different security outfits to reach a compromise. And they must be reposted every 6 months to another area entirely.

If any insecurity happen along any highway after this, the Commandant will be summoned by the President and fired with no benefit if no adequate explanation, he must be made to know this before he accepts the job. Each highway patrol barrack will have a head that reports to the overall commandant.

This new Highway Security Taskforce should be headed by a Commandant to be appointed by President and reports directly to the President via the office of NSA.

They should be put on special allowance.

Build Joint Taskforce Patrol Barracks on all major highways, especially the interstate highways all over Nigeria. let these barracks be like 2km apart on each highway and must have:

Ambulances
Military Grade Assault Drones
1 Helicopter on each highway
Several patrol vehicles, Vans, pickups

The security officers on each highway must be patrolling their highway jurisdiction 24hrs on a shift by shift bases, like 4 shifts per day and must be always alert and ready to shoot.

To fund this, get private organizations involved, get banks, institutions, NGOs, and interested private individuals ready to partner with the government specifically for this, I and my small organization are fully ready to partner on this.

I am ready to give more security details on this and how to actualize this and make all Nigerian highways safe and secured for all Nigerian road users and travelers.

It is really getting out of hand and the President need to act now so he can be remembered for good.

So sad how Nigeria is being turned to a killing camp, sighs

So you think they don't know these strategies and even more?
Nigeria's insecurities is as a result of Governments lack of will power to execute and largely little will to actually fund that sector.

Example is lack of emergency medical readiness due to lack of training and retraining exercises.

Anything the Government wants to do, they'll do it., but for reasons best known to them they won't solve insecurity wholesomely.

Take an example of the former Governor of Rivers State when he formed the C4i.

They had sniffer dogs, special assault rifles and even sniper rifles at every check point. These men were Israeli trained, monitored by a 24/7 CCTV cameras at a central situation room.

Security men were posted to different strategic positions of possible assaults and believe me the 112 emergency number was working.

Nowadays you'll call the control room with your airtime and they may not take your calls or call you back.

To the Government, we want full funding and actual monitoring of security and strategy review from time to time.

DPO's should be made accountable to their jurisdiction as internal security lies in the hands of the Police. Thank you

Unfortunately, the government doesn't seem very interested in ending this insecurity, for reasons best known to them

Let me inform you, this people are Boko Haram. They're not kidnapping to build houses and buy cars like Evans was doing, they're kidnapping to buy more guns, bullets and ammunition, and to feed their men.
