Well, we ended up with a Dangote monopoly (though there are 5 other private refineries on ground, plus BUA is planning one)..because at the end, the subsidy you guys defended made it difficult for anyone to get investment to build more refineries to compete with Dangote.

Subsidy means that any fuel sold from domestic refinery would be sold at a cost below production cost, and the resulting loss won;t be covered by the subsidy adequately. Banks see that, and won't lend.

Dangote got the loans because if he fails to pay back, AMCON would take over his other businesses and pay his creditors back.
