That's a mere 8billion USD .

That's the annual budget of a LGA in California.

Should we suffer because of a meagre 8b usd?
This is not California, stop the unrealistic comparison. 8 billion dollars is a decent amount to save in Nigeria.

Unfortunately, the guy is lying, there is no money to be saved anywhere because the debt profile is very huge and corruption is everywhere.

The question know is how do to spend the money that it will reflect in the life of average Nigerian. Not some useless government officials will sit at one corner and eat the money.

And the 8 trillion is the lowest in 10 years, kudos to Tinubu.

You want to drink champagne on a beer budget? Set your budget with what you generate. Cut spending and unnecessary waste. More than half of what we budget yearly is a waste.

Foolishness the real scam is subsidy removal. Government played a fast one on Nigerians. Now we do not enjoy any benefit from the government.

The price of petrol is still being subsidized. That explains the differential between the price and that of kerosene and diesel. In addition, oil marketers are not importing it and it seems Dangote has omitted it from the list of products it will be refining for now.

from the little chemistry I know, I dont know how Dangote will refine crude oil without being able to produce petrol from the refining process and now ay that petrol will be produced at a later date. it does not make sense

8 trillion naira is the lowest ever to fund a budget of 28 trillion in 10 years. The lowest percentage in 10yrs, Kudos to President Tinubu.

Mr PwC, those things you said are insignificant, as long as we're an import dependent nation, we keep borrowing.

It looks like you are missing something here, this is my comment:

Who is the joker here?

It is like you read and don't understand but I will explain to you, Tinubi claims to have 8 trillion from subsidy removal and that it will help the budget, and I wrote that he claims to be saving and yet he his taking loan of over 8 trillion to to fund the budget...

That is like a man telling his family to starve because he wants to save but still takes loan bigger than what he is saving...

Now you are telling me that Tinubu is taking only 8 trillion naira loan to fund the 2024 budget and I am asking you for evidence to your claim and you are telling me to read my first comment...

Is the evidence that Tinubu is taking only 8 trillion naira loan in this comment?

And the government had to borrow more than 8 trillion to fund the 2024 budget...

Who is the joker here?

I need a document, newslink or anything you can provide to back up your claim that Tinubu is only taking 8 trillion naira loan in the 2024 budget....

Save trillions? And make the people suffer the more? What are you saving for? You are circulating poverty and suffering and yet boasting about making savings? Naira has depreciated over 100% in less than a year and here we are singing praises of ourselves!

Steady supply of electricity won't even do any magic at this point unless the minimum wage is increased by over 400 percent so That the purchasing parity of an average nigerian will tally, if not people wont even afford electricity.
The real inflation rate is over 100%.Nigerians are in big shit.
Increasing the minimum wage by 400% is the way to hyperinflation.

Dangote plans to refine petrol this year, maybe, (if I understood) February.
Also, modular refineries like EPRC, Duport, Watersmith, Aradel, Opac and Lowerie refined all petroleum products except petrol because it is subsidized.

The little chemistry you learn in secondary school about refining is not correct, the distillation unit separates hydrocarbons into different fractions which are raw materials for refined products and petrochemicals not diesel or petrol. These fractions have to be further process to get the desire products.

if you say that "The money they saved was not even there in the first place", then which money was saved?

how do you generate what was saved?

how did buhari budget for subsidy without backing it with money?

what did he back it up with?

You are asking those questions because you don’t read the news. Buhari said subsidy would end in June, but by January of same year there wasbno money to pay subsidy in nations treasury. And NNPC stated that federal government was owing it over 3 trillion Naira subsidy debt. I hope that is clear now.

It is not because hou already have your inflation in that region and usually nothing comes down in nigeria.
Also the people at the helm of affairs said that they want to actualize the real value of naira since the floating which has kept it in that current region so your economy can no longer work with a minimuim wage of 30k if naira settles at this level.
