Just like Buhari will say....

No wonder Tinubu did not see anything wrong in Buhari's 8 years in office

Oga speak for yourself, is it the citizens that should be checking the papers of foreigners, then why do we immigration service?

You guys always try to defend the government failures because you support the leaders currently there, please just speak for yourself and don't generalize for Nigerians abeg

Are the immigration officers not Nigerians?

The landlords renting out their buildings to foreigners they know little or nothing about what they do for living, are they not Nigerians?

@least, we can be rest assured we have a president unlike the effigy that just left, that would always express shock after months of the incident. The present and the past president have one thing in common tho which is FAILURE despite the fact that the present is in touch with present reality.

He is in touch with reality and he is just realizing that there are illegal miners in oyo state.

All the people he has said they should catch from the killers in plateau state to kidnappers in Abuja, Dem never still see anyone catch. Now he has added illegal miners to the list

Why God? Are you saying that government has no idea of the activities of illegal miners in the state?
Most of the illegal miners operate in the thick forest, farmers and local villagers are supposed to be help to exposed them. Police officers too are not helping matters, they will just go and burst them collect money and leave them again. In most cases, government are not aware at all.

Get the point clear, they are not mining in Bodija, but they store the explosive in their house they leave in Bodija with them, According to the eye withness that saw them running away from the house with their children and wives before the blast, they only go to the site in the morning and come back home in the evening, only God knows the actual site of the mining.

they should be sentence to death if caught and they should not be handed to there country of origin

How can you say government is not aware?

How did government know that these people are illegal miners?

How do you know that they carry out their activities in thick forests?

It may not be mineral mining activities, it may be quarry, they too use explosives. I remember when I was still working with one of these companies along Idi ayunre-Ogunmakin axis, there are lots of quarry sites owned by Indians & Lebanese along that axis. Every now & then, we do hear the loud explosion and ground tremor. Anybody with high blood pressure can not live in that axis.

Medicine after death, there are many illegal activities going on in the country with the active connivance of government regulatory agencies.
All government regulatory agencies should be restructured and put on their toes to do their primary assignment.
Thousands of unregulated activities are going on in the country with the regulatory agencies collecting bribes.

Good talk!
Why can't we have pre- emptive methods of reporting these illegalities, including Kidnappers den,the Terrorists hide out and Criminalities,- within and across the Borders,everywhere- even before Calamities happens?
What of those Illegalities in Mining-Gold,etc, in Zanfara,Kaduna, Katsina, etc and other Areas Across Nigeria?
Most of these Govt Agencies are just sitting in the Offices, enjoying Air-conditioning and- signing Vouches,to claim from the Annual Budgets year-in, year-out, nothing tangible is being gotten here for the Masses! Just imagine this Ibadan issue at hand, and see how the Masses, especially, the Innocent one Perished!
Shameful!

This is what happens when the politicians are fixated on sharing money accruing to mining only resources from the Petroleum without bothering to allow States to take possession of solid minerals.

Illegal miners of solid minerals are not supervised cos it is not supposed to be shared.

Everyone is focusing on Oil and Gas money.

these non-Nigerians claiming Hausa, they are just too many all over the places. That's not the issue though, the issue is that we have given them too much space to do as they like. Majority of them don't even have any genuine papers.
No doubt, we Nigerians are the architect of our own misfortunes.

Who is mining in New Bodija area and what are they mining to necessitate storing of dynamite/explosives in residential area? A lot of things are really wrong.
Bodija might just be a residential base for d miners
The real mining might be taking place in osun state that is about an hour drive away...

Political ambition of some mighty men opened the borders for opportunists from neighboring countries, chiefly Niger. Now, the entire nation is paying the price.
The evil that men do lives after them.

Misplaced presidential order! Fish out the rampaging killer kidnappers that have laid siege on the FCT particularly and other parts of the country in general. Hw can a set of beastly criminals abduct 8 members of the same family, embark on serial elimination of the victims while daily raising the ransom, yet, our president, our security architecture look helpless.
In saner climes, these merciless elements would have been rounded up while the victims are rescued unhurt. Very sad!

Don't mind them. Bandits are at work, simple. I pray there's no reoccurrence, that's when they'd keep quiet.

I hope they'd fish out these bandits before they destroy our region. Our government too dey lie, ha! Awon oniro.

Bodija, down to Akobo-oju irin is a residential area for the elites in Ibadan. There's no single mining site there. It's a decent area, just like we have lekki or VI in lagos.

Where exactly is the mining site, mtchew

I personally see the issue of illegal miners in the case of the blast as speculation, until there's forensic analysis of what really happened I refuse to believe what the media is selling to us
