My friend, at times, sentiment and your hatred for someone should be put aside so your brain can work properly. Firstly, their headquarters was in Lagos before it was needlessly moved by the Buhari administration around 2020. Secondly, you should have taken your time to read through the reasons they listed and reasonable people would agree that the reasons listed were indeed genuine. It’s baffling to see how you complain about wastage of public fund yet still complain about things like this one. What this ultimately shows is that you never meant well for Nigeria to start with. People who are right in the heads know that this has nothing to do with tribalism. What’s happening is more like you paying millions of naira on a small one-room apartment when in actual reality, you have 5 mansions in another city. Cry harder, we all know where all this is coming from grin

Lagos is for Yorubas, and you are busy moving FG offices back to Lagos?

Some of you do not read at all.
I could remember when the Headquarters was moved to Abuja. That was one of the most stupidest things to do.

Thank God it's back to Lagos.

Sincerely, just like someone said, Ministries should be HQuartered in the region or state that has the highest activities concerning it.

I wonder why NNPC HQ is in Abuja while we have Delta, Rivers e.t.c.
Even in the US, all FG HQs are not always in Washington DC

Can they in the same spirit move nnpc and other oil related companies to the Niger delta....cos that's where the traffic( oil) is...until then ....

You know they will NEVER do that.

In fact they would rather Nigeria burn down than to do that

So how come all the headquarters of companies that has to do with oil are either in Lagos or Abuja instead of the Niger delta that has the oil?
Cos Lagos n Abuja are capital territory oriented. Lagos former capital and has the busiest airport for international engagement. Niger Delta areas can't bossy of this.
FG now further developed Abuja to be new capital etc.

I don't have a problem with this, these are national assets being moved to Lagos, yet in the end some ethnic folks will try to deny other ethnic group access to these things claiming they belong to Yorubaland.
Every state has tribes that dominate there. It's an unwritten law.

Going by your analogy, NNPC's HQ should be in the South South, while Mobil's HQ in Eket, Akwa Ibom.

Lagos airport accounts for a greater share of both passenger and cargo flights, I wonder why the Headquarters was moved to Abuja in the first instance.

I hope in bringing it to Lagos, it will be suitable not too far from the airport and not the Island.

You are just taking trash n contradicting yourself
Who says the companies must base their capitals in the city with the busiest airports? Besides your other comment that I quoted initially, suggests that the criteria for siting headquarters should be the availability n traffic of the product involved. Nnpc n the rest are domiciled in Abuja or Lagos yet the oil they use is in Niger delta…. So in that spirit the oil companies must move to the Niger delta

First it was CBN moving some directorates, now FAAN relocating it HQs, which agency will move its cooperate HQ next?

It's these policies flip-flops that engenders waste of resources.

How can the Minister be domiciled in Abuja while a key agency under him be headquartered in Lagos?
Oga Festus has monopolized DTA and Hotel allowances to himself as he junkets between Lagos and Abuja in the name of supervision

Doodan barracks loading

The first question you should ask yourself is where FAAN their money as a revenue generation agency. Lagos or Abuja?
Then your senses will dictate to you the right thing to do.
Between Keyamo living in Abuja and all the directors and their staffs relocating which one is better.

He he had the opportunity to develop his region but he fooled himself around with abokis and ndi ofe nmanu in Abuja. Now common road to go Otueke no dey.

He should have moved NNPC to Rivers state or Delta, moved NIMASA to Port Harcourt. We own the oil and the waterways and now aboki has taken over positions in NNPC. They own and operate the oil blocs and some foolish set of idiots are shouting Niger Delta up-and-down on empty stomach
no bro the useless advisers from the southern region sabotage all his available efforts. Southerners politicians are the worst

They don't give a fvck about the insecurity in Abuja. The plan is to make abuja uninhabitable for its residents so everyone will start seeing Lagos as a safe place of abode. The agenda is gradually unfolding. Already they are moving key departments of the CBN to Lagos and now FAAN. More to follow, then gradually the FCT will be relocated back to Lagos. Some people create their own storm then get upset when it rains.

Anything to rescue power from these Northerners is a well come development.
I don't care what anyone is saying. This is the time for Southerners to wake up.
Nigeria's strength and development is centered in the South.
What is Northern Nigeria known for apart from Boko-haram and killing Christians.

Of course that's the real reason behind the relocation, however no point in putting everyone in panic mode as a result. Wise move though.

Olaide1295:
The decision to relocate the FAAN corporate headquarters from Abuja to Lagos, as explained in this press release, appears to be a well-considered and practical move. The reasons provided, including the lack of office space in Abuja, the cost implications of duty tour allowance, and the need to manage resources efficiently, demonstrate a commitment to responsible and transparent governance.

The assurance that the Authority will continue to act in the best interest of the public and the country, as well as the commitment to building befitting corporate offices in both Lagos and Abuja, further emphasizes a forward-thinking approach. The consideration of operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness aligns with responsible stewardship of public funds.

It's encouraging to see a focus on the long-term plan.

Really? The new terminal in the Abuja Airport was built at a cost of $600M. It was commissioned by PMB and till now it is underutilised. It was a project that was budgeted by the FAAN. If the terminal doesn't have offices for FAAN staff, it was deliberate and unfortunate.

Secondly the Abuja airport is very strategic to Nigeria not only because it is the gateway to the nation’s capital but also because it the second busiest airport in the country and the fastest growing in passenger traffic in West and Central Africa, with an average growth rate of 8%, where the world average growth is 5.8%. The airport processed 5,709,012 passengers in 2017.

This can justify the building of a befitting HQ for FAAN in Abuja. Julius Berger can complete such a project in 6months.

Economically and politically Abuja's airport is strategically important.

Heads of States of foreign countries,CEOs of multinational companies including top personnel of Internationa Development Agencies all fly into Abuja on a daily basis to meet Mr President and other top government functionaries. Yet you are relocating the HQ of FAAN to Lagos. So junior FAAN staff will interface with these important personalities? That's is not the protocol.

We know the real reason why FAAN HQ was relocated to Lagos. It is for economic and political reasons. It simply means that a lot of operations in FAAN will be initiated in Lagos. Deals will be made in Lagos. Finances will flow to Lagos. Who owns Lagos? Who benefits from those deals and increased operations?

Ditto CBN. Finance. CBN will finance projects and operations in Lagos.

I'm sure more strategic Agencies will be relocated to Lagos as soon as plans are perfected.

So let the naive and ignorant group of Nigerians continue to defend this action. Ultimately we know that our rulers place personal, tribal interests well above the interests of the country.
