Kidnapping as an industry started in ernest during the Buhari administration, during gej administration kidnapping was small scale and politically/religiously motivated e.g chibok girls.
During Buhari administration it became a tool for money laundering and the "ways and means " instituted by some organisations. It is now a means of printing money and paying ransom, this same ransom circles back to the hands of the "elites"

Let's take a closer look at it.
Just yesterday, N100m(one hundred million naira) was used to secure the release of 5 sisters. If we follow the money, it begs the question of from who and to whom?
Who sent the money, by what means was the money sent(cash, transfer, or cryptocurrency) ?, how did the sender acquire N100m without government intervention?
No matter how the money was transmitted to the kidnappers, it is traceable.

Its unfortunate, but Nigeria needs a new currency. A digital currency. The enaira, CNGN, NIN have all failed. NIN at this point is used to extort Nigerians. They will intentionally make mistakes in your name, DOB and so on and use it to collect money from your pocket lol 15k to correct dob... I just de laugh.

Back to the the original question how much is the kidnapping industry worth? We have calculated it carefully, calculated from 2015_2024 all ransom paid to kidnappers so far is about N10trn. Probably more or less.

Nigerians need to be courageous. The country is almost gone.

Tinubu, despite the controversy surrounding your emergence, show some goodwill to get the trust of Nigerians before they come for you with pitchforks.
