Most of you fighting on behalf of lucky doesn't know what loyalty means. Lucky was a selfish and power intoxicated person that couldn't stand by his principal in his painful last day on earth. This can be attest to his swearing-in speech on the same day his boss died, which he started by "A ku orire o" (meaning: Congratulations to us). Congratulations that someone that picked you out of nowhere in his second term suffer and died. No sympathy whatsoever.
Karma awaits him.

Like you said "Karma awaits him". For sure that awaits everyone. What a man sows, he reaps. Imagine that Akeredolu too advised Yar'adua to come back home and resign when he was dying but when he faced the same fate, he couldn't implement the same advice he gave to another. So sad, that shows you the hypocritical nature of man.

While I agree with you that it's in bad taste to have said congratulations to his supporters on taking office after the demise of his boss, the problem is that the word loyalty has been serially abused by Africans and Nigerians in particular.
In our part of the world, loyalty seems to take a meaning of losing your senses and saying yes to everything. Loyalty also involves speaking the truth and doing things right.
While you're blaming lucky, what about those who under the guise of loyalty took advantage of the situation to forge signatures and siphon funds? Are they truly loyal to the boss or to their personal interests?
We should know where to draw the line between right and wrong under the guise of loyalty to the detriment of the general good

Some of you think everyone must pick a side or that when we share our views, we're supporting one side against the other.

Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa may've misspoken at the time by not choosing his words carefully but why does that have to stop the Akeredolu family from disallowing the state government from giving their patriarch a burial befitting his status as a governor who died in office?

Except the state government under Aiyedatiwa didn't signify interest or refused to avail itself for communication with the Akeredolu family, it's improper to deny the state government of being involved in the burial arrangements and that's my opinion.

It's like most of you don't even know the type of powers Nigerian governors wield; if Aiyedatiwa decides to use what's left of the time his administration has to be petty by going after his predecessor's immediate family (the widow especially) over their purported sleaze, it'll take only the intervention of the President to save them from embarrassment & possible trial but let sleeping dogs lie.

You couldn't have put it any better. Folks like that only look at Aiyedatiwa's faults but ignore whatever insults, disrespect & humiliation the man must've endured.

There's always an action that bequeaths an equal & opposite reaction & that could've been possible in this instance even though his comment was in bad taste considering the circumstances at the time.

Let's even leave out the man who has died; karma is for the living. If media reports about how the late Akeredolu's immediate family (his wife in particular) turned the state's coffers into a personal piggy bank when their patriarch was incapacitated are to be believed, then, it's them that should be wary of karma just as everyone else.

I don't know why the owner of this place decided to situate it in this location. It's a cool place and should be in a state capital. I don't see them getting the needed patronage here.
A resort is ideally meant to be located in the backwaters. The investor has good security arrangements there with a Nigerian Army checkpoint virtually at the gate of the resort. Commendable!

A friend told me last I was not loyal to him just because I insisted on the truth in a matter that involved him. I couldn't care less though. Goodbye to a bad guy!

The end of an Era.

If only we all realised that this life is a loan we must all pay back with the currency of DEATH.

If only we constantly remind ourselves that all our "gettings" would amount to nothing when frailty consumes us on our death beds.

If only we see life as a vapour which soon disappears into nothingness.

Adieu Aketi!

The pride of life will not allow us see all these. The morgue is a place all living souls must visit at least once is a while. It will remind us of the ephemeral nature of the human being. It is a humbling experience to see people that where once full of life like us lying stone cold frozen dead.
All the cares of life, money, wealth, family, certificates, houses, cars, etc forgotten in an instant. Then boom eternity begins. Whether for good or for bad it depends greatly on how we lived while on Earth. Let us remember this and turn around our way to serve our maker. Only then can we truly be free both now and in eternity.
