Unpainted And Unregistered Taxicabs Will No Longer Operate In FCT – Wike by GuruboiNaija: 6:29am On Jan 25
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that the FCT Administration is putting structures in place that would ensure that only registered taxis painted in Abuja colours are allowed to operate in the FCT.

Wike stated this on Wednesday during a meeting with traditional rulers and area council chairmen in Abuja.

He said: “Very soon, we are going to roll out our buses, which will be painted in Abuja colour. In that case, we will not allow taxis that are not painted in Abuja colour to operate here, so that those “one chance” will no longer be there,” he said.

The minister added that the FCTA will also provide bus terminals for various routes in the FCT, which will serve as the operational base for registered buses and taxis in the FCT.

“If we have three to four terminals, it will be designed in such a way that these vehicles will go to so so areas. If you are travelling to so so area, go to that terminal, and those that will operate there are taxis and buses that we have profiled, and we know them,” he further stressed.

Supported, but will that stop people from entering unmarked cars? People ignore the parks and stand on the road , they reject even clearly coloured taxis and desire the posh unknown vehicles.
This also affects honest personal car owners who want to carry one or two passengers to augment the cost of petrol.
Well, it hard sha , na one issue dey spoil business for another person

Nice strategy, you have a case to answer if your cab is culpable of any illegal acts....

Also more security checkpoints would be effective too

You said same about PMB he has finished his 8 yrs and still standing , it’s never a bad thing to go for medical checkups from time to time , it helps increases your chances of living longer but it bad they go outside the country for check up , if it’s done in ASO villa it makes sense. Don’t wish anyone death life’s too fragile .

I agree with you. Seems he took Rivers people with him there hoping they will govern Abuja Rivers style. It won't work. He needs to respect his hosts and learn their ways you can't go there and change them or bully them the way he bullies his people
