COMPLY WITH BIRS DIRECTIVE ON PRESUMPTIVE TAX, MKEENEM URGES TRANSPORT UNIONS

The Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Benue State on Youth Mobilization and Empowerment, Hon. Mkeenem Moses, at an interactive season organized by the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) yesterday, January 25, 2024, urged Tricycle Union, Benue Motorcycle Association (BEMOA), Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Bolt Drivers to comply with the directives of the Board as a way of giving the Governor Alia administration its well deserved support to expand the tax net and revenue generation of the State.

The SSA explained that presumptive Tax is a personal income Tax that is expected to be paid by everyone that works and earn within Benue State, adding that the tax was already backed up by the Benue Extant law which he described as the Benue revenue law 2023.

Hon. Mkeenem maintained that the operation is not outside the ambit of the Law, so the aforementioned transport unions which are predominated by the youths should comply without delay.

He appreciated Benue youths for being part of the development of the State and promised to always stand with them.
