Weak Naira only compounds it, the main challenge is the policies by the countries people are traveling to especially UK and Canada

Paying school fees abroad for your relative while you are earning in naira is becoming difficult. You will convert N1m thinking it was huge only to get less than $1k, which will not even be enough to pay for the person"s monthly accommodation in Canada. Some students still could not see jobs to support themselves. It is a terrible situation.

This is not good news. Extreme economic hardship and unfulfilled dreams is not something to celebrate.

A country where a soldier with rifle is lamenting he can't travel to visit his family because his monthly salary is less than $40 (50k naira).

Gradually?

Nigeria was gradually a failed state before 2015 and has been a failed state for about 8 years now
But unfortunately all these stipend merchants on nairaland won't agree to this.

Yes it’s not easy anywhere in the world. But is it easy in Nigeria? The rate at which you hustle in Nigeria without nothing to show for it, if you apply that same pressure abroad, your life won’t be the same. Yankee go commend your efforts. Na the scope.

I Dey wonder how people wey be citizen for Yankee go Dey homeless when someone from Nigeria who can’t even speak like you will get a job and settle within 1yr of relocation. But you wey be citizen go Dey homeless. Na them never tell you why dem dey homeless .

How can weak naira slow down japa rate grin. It's people that lock themselves indoors. That believe news like this. Immigration officers who don't have levels are like feeling like kingkong, as a result of the impact of a bad economy.

Nigeria was a failed state in 1960. It was designed to fail. Massive restructuring of our government and political system is needed to make any progress. Or we will continue fooling ourselves for the next 60 years.
