Your Authenticity

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2 vs 15

Have you ever bought a fake dress or material in the market before? Or bought a shoe that looks like a particular brand only for it to get bad in a short space of time?
We all love things that are made original. Things that can stand the toughest conditions or pass the test of time. When God made us he made us to be ourselves and demonstrate a level of authenticity. People can be similar in nature but no two people are the same.

God wants us to be who he made us to be. If you are gifted to sing Soprano you don’t need to be worried that you do not sing alto. If you are gifted to dance, you don’t need to be worried that you cannot sing. Sometimes we can be good at many things but not everything is needed for us to be accepted by God. God wants us to display our authenticity in service to him. When we try to be what we are not or do what we were not made for we set ourselves up for failure or a life of pressure.

If you want God’s approval you cannot live for the approval of men. If you want God’s blessings then you have to operate in the ways he has fashioned you. God doesn’t like phonies. He loves you with your authenticity. He shaped and gifted you to serve him in some ways and in a way that will glorify him. The worst mistake is living a life that is void of authenticity. Be authentic and God will bless your efforts.

Key Point: God loves us in our authenticity than in our inauthenticity.

Prayer: Lord help me to live and serve you in a way that is authentic and original.
