I actually thought the flag wasn't real initially...

So I did a quick Google search.

Apparently it's real. And the red color on the flag they say represents the blood shed during their struggle for Independence. The black represents Africa as a whole. The gear, machete and star symbols represent the industrial, peasantry and socialism yellow.

The flag was designed in 1975!

Looks inspired by the Soviet Union

Tribalism has eaten deep into your marrow

I think you are quoting the wrong person... Please, mention those so eaten up by tribalism that they can't bring themselves to support their national team.

I merely stated a clear and honest observation.

Thank you.

True Spirit of Sportsmanship! smiley

I watched the game from 70mins to full time.

Angola played us like Small pickin. embarassed

If this Super eagles met Algeria, Morrocco or Egypt with their clinical Strikers that score from small chances,
We would have been kicked out of this AFCON. undecided

Our Play is Boring! sad sad
They played us because we were leading them in goal. If they were leading us, Nigeria would have played them too. It's normal in football when the two teams involved are not too far away from each other in ranking.

Class act from the Palenca Neggras of Angola...

This is what the North Africans side, especially Morocco should emulate, not trying to be a radical nuisance anytime they lose. (Inclusive of their club sides)
You can't separate Arabs from violence. They will always be like that.

Good one... Sportsmanship.

Meanwhile, Nigerians in Nigeria are still bashing their national team.

Some are even angry that Nigeria has gotten this far against their prediction of doom.

Some of you have serious mental health issues.

Nigeria have not impressed in this Tournament. undecided

Our players do not Play like European based Players at all. sad

Players who play in Brentford, Fulham, Porto, AC Milan, etc, Struggles to Locate their teammates for a Pass or Can't even execute it. embarassed undecided

The Angolans totally Outplayed them Yesterday.

Defence is the only Good thing about the team.

If they are overhyped and winning, then it's not overhyping. But during first round they were underpraised and overcondemned, you never said anything.

No, we didn't start playing defensive. They actually started playing with their adrenaline so high as time goes by. Is it the first time you're seeing this kind of stuff happen in football? A man chased by a lion will run more than his normal self on a normal day.

The Angolans played a solid game...they could have scored earlier and won the game.

However they were outmatched by the super eagles in the midfield.

Arabs are radical. The Northern Nigeria take a cue from them.

Google explains:

"The colours of the Angola flag represent the bloodshed during the struggle for independence (Red), and representing Africa as a whole (Black). The gear, machete and star symbols represent the industrial, peasantry and socialism (Yellow). This flag design was adopted in 1975 and has remained the same since."
