Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi confirmed on Friday that his country “will not start a war,” but will “respond forcefully to anyone who dares.”

During a speech in Hormozgan Province, Raisi explained that “the enemies were talking to us all the time about putting the military option on the table,” but now they say that they “do not want to clash with Iran.”

He stressed that "the enemy today does not have the ability to do anything against Iran, because it knows that the Iranian forces are strong and capable," stressing that "the Islamic Republic of Iran is distinguished today by military, scientific and technological capabilities."

This announcement comes after threats from Washington following the killing of 3 American soldiers and the wounding of more than 40 in an attack on an American base in Jordan near the Syrian border, as the United States considered that Iran was behind the groups that carried out attacks against American individuals and installations in Iraq and Syria.

The Iranian "IRNA" agency quoted Iran's mission to the United Nations as denying reports that Tehran had received messages from the United States through intermediaries during the past two days, stressing that if any party attacks Iran's lands, interests, or nationals outside the country's borders, it will face a decisive and strong response. .

In the same context, the Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Guard Forces in Iran, Major General Hossein Salami, affirmed that Iran “does not seek war, but will defend its values and principles against its enemies.”

Major General Salami said: “Sometimes, enemies make threats, and even these days we hear some threats from the words of American officials. We tell them that you have tested us before in more than one place, and that we know each other, and we will not leave any aggression without a response.”

In turn, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian confirmed earlier that the Iranian response to American threats will be decisive and direct, calling on the United States to stop threatening language and focus on the political solution.

A few days ago, the Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force, Brigadier General Keumarth Heydari, stressed that "the Iranian Army is at the highest levels of combat and defensive readiness," adding: "We will confront any type of enemy threat with a decisive and decisive response."
