A life Journal

At the LORD’s command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages:
Numbers 33:2


Numbers 33 is a chapter in the Bible we might pass by without reflection. It appears to be nothing more than a long list of places tracing Israel’s pilgrimage from Rameses in Egypt to their arrival in the plains of Moab. 
But why then was it important to be part of the Bible ?

Keeping a spiritual journal is one of the wisest things you can do as a Christian. Your journey with God requires documentation, analysis and review. The bible says " At the Lord's command Moses recorded the stages". Why record? Because by keeping a record of our progress in our spiritual walk we even learn more and see God's hand of faithfulness better. Your personal story is better than a sermon. Many people who won't accept the authority of the Bible will believe more in your personal story. As you journey in life as a Christian. There will be ups and downs. Highs and lows and we need these stories to be part of our personal encouragement and something that will also help others.


Write down the personal lessons God has taught you. You will be grateful years later you did this. We are all grateful today because the likes of David, Solomon and the prophets recorded. The Bible is full of proverbs written by Solomon who was experienced in dealing with humans as a king. David who was an expert in escaping from crisis penned down psalms of his personal predicaments and many of which constitute godly encouragement we enjoy today from the Bible. Psalm 102:18 says" Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done "

Is anyone going to be in heaven because of you? Is anyone going to say " your words and experiences gave me an insight to overcome a challenging situation ? Take out time henceforth to write down what God is teaching you as you journey through life.


Key point: The reason we have to relearn is that as humans we forget. By keeping a spiritual journal we learn and relearn lessons and God's ways.


Prayer : Lord help me to keep track of my progress and lessons as I journey through life.
