[quote author=PressMyButton post=128284238]Yet FG budgeted over 2trillion for electricity subsidy. Which Government privatized NEPA?, Which Government embezzled $16billion power fund. Let's keep blaming an 8months old Government. Isn't that part of why they were thrown out and APC came in?. Wasn't it BRF who said APC needed only 6months to fix the power situation, he left us with 8years of pitch darkness.r APC is actually 8yrs + the 8months and it's been an avalanche of grid collapses that has completely crippled our power supply. 2 Likes |

The main solution is to decentralized the supply. We need more serious players in the game AND THE FIRMS SHOULD BE LIABLE TO SUPPLY WHATEVER GIGAWATTS (no matter how big or small)THEY CAN PROVIDE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR WISH AND TARGET LOCATIONS (without interference from government whether STATE or FEDERAL.) |

Nigerians love to hear falsehoods,as there is nothing like National Grid! It's a convoluted schemes by the Politicians and former Armies in Nigeria, who devices, the National Grid and is always faulty and fraudulent entity! How can you tell over 200-Millions Nigerians that the Grid only cater for less than 5000 Megawatt? Even now,the less than 3000 Megawatts is bringing more Darkness to the Masses and it should be dismantled to allow each State of Federation to have their own and generate their own Power! Less hope is not a trick - for Power Minister-to increase the Tariff on Light! Nigerians are watching! Very Shameful! 1 Like |

CorrectionFLuid: The minister of power visited a generating power station, and concluded that they don’t have money to buy gas, and some of the turbines are at below capacity. He said the subsidy hasn’t been paid by government to the private generating companies to buy gas. He didn’t really mention anything about transmission. Also, it’s hard to privatise transmission but I do think our transmission infrastructure is underwhelming. I think an agreement is in place with Siemens regarding transmission, but this will take time. The interim solution would be for gov to pay up what is owned, so that the generating firm can buy gas, and operate at convenient capacity. 1 Like |
