💲1bn for 12 attack helicopters❓❓❓ This looks like a fkcuing rip-off❗️❗️❗️😮😮😮 An average attack helicopters is in the region of 💲20m to 💲35m. Top of the range like the Apache are in the region of 💲50m. So, how come they are selling 12 & with whatever accompanying peripherals and training costing close to💲80m per unit❓❓❗️❗️❗️ 2 Likes 1 Share |

dre11:In a significant move aimed at improving Nigeria’s defence capabilities, the United States Department of Defence has confirmed the sale of arms valued at $1 billion to Nigeria. According to a statement issued by the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency, the deal includes the procurement of 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, as well as 32 mission computers from Northrop Grumman. The acquisition of 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters will enhance Nigeria’s ability to conduct precision strikes and undertake rapid response operations for the country’s overall security and stability. The statement added that the strategic move is expected to bolster Nigeria’s ability to respond to security challenges and strengthen its overall defence posture. Nigeria’s complex security challenges have displaced millions and claimed countless lives, making the purchase of the helicopter, scheduled for completion in June 2024, a significant upgrade to the country’s military assets. The sale follows the US State Department’s approval in April 2022 of Nigeria’s request for the helicopters, which includes guidance systems, night vision imaging systems, and extensive training. 1 Share

How many innocent people did we kill with last one we bought? People were enjoying a wedding celebration, the next thing, Army visited them with a heavy bombardment in Kaduna. Zero intelligence and the bandits are having a field day in almost all the States of the federation. May God help us. |

Emmanuel900:Go school, you did midnight schooling and ended up in NL. Do a little research if you have a head for doing that. American troops landed in Nigeria at the onset of Boko Haram to lend hands to Nigeria's troops but quickly left when they understood the level of sabotage within members of Nigeria's armed forces. |

This AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter was bought at over $83m(#83B) for each, so why not buy Apache Helicopters which is the most fearless helicopter in the world and the current unit cost of the latest AH-64E Apache as $52 million. |

onuman: You are the illiterate here lol Quote a source from Google, Wikipedia , Or newspaper to corroborate your claim. There must be something you guys drink in the East that makes you susceptible to believe anything and any propaganda, same way you believed Buhari was cloned and Nnamdi kanu and Samuel Ekpa continue to deceive you with so many lies. US might have provided training and support but they don't care to the extent of personally sending troops to engage on the front line. Even in Ukraine that US have helped with billions of dollars they didn't send any troops. What's Nigeria to US that would now make them risk the lives of their soldiers lol ? 1 Like |

adecz: What do you know jon snow? Arm chair expert, talking as if you have worked in an attack helicopters sale shop or something before. The monitoring or guidance and precision system and computers that would come with it are even more useful than the helicopters and should not be underestimated because Nigeria currently don't have much capabilities to track terrorists and bandits. With better system they wouldn't be attacking civilians instead of terrorists like it happened last time. You know a thing or two about something and think you have known it all and an expert. Typical black man, don't be so close minded 1 Like

What have they done? ... how many insurgents have they really killed?.... how many civilians have they really killed? ... how many are still operative? A military coup is badly needed to round up all these politicians and ehmmm .... let me shut up. |

Emmanuel900:You have obviously not been following the genesis and progress of Boko Haram uprising in Nigeria. Ask senior army officers in Nigeria about what Americans did at the onset of Boko haram uprising. Americans also sent their troops to Afghanistan to combat extremist Islamists. You may also ask what is Afghanistan to Americans for America to send troops to combat the Afghan Taliban. Your introduction of East to the discuss is not unexpected, as your lot is the most sophistiWretched ethnic bigots in Nigeria; you manifested your usual ethnic bigotry. Anyhow, your soul mate APC with its Buhari rejected by Easterners at the onset, is now the savior of Nigeria. You must be writing from the darkness of lack of electricity into which your saviour Buhari, and APC threw Nigeria. 1 Like |

Glassysea: You read my mind This AH_1Z was made during the Vietnam War in 1967. How come Nigeria is not buying the latest Apache attack Helicopter? To be honest drone would have been better. Very low-tech. Identify a bandit cell phone and track the phone using a simple Google Earth app and launch a drone with the coordinates feed. Do you have any idea how many drones you could with $1B? |

DMerciful: And Nigerian national budget for 2024 expenditure is 27.5 trillion Naira. Even though they will use padding/appropriation to add more later, it's a paltry sum. This should be the budget of Bayelsa or Ekiti Sate. For decent quality education, healthcare, welfare system and local amenities that are well funded. Considering where we were in 1960 compared to Australia, Singapore, NZ, etc. https://www.pwc.com/ng/en/assets/pdf/nigeria-budget-highlight-2023.pdf This budget was prepared with forex of $1 = 750 Naira. We never ready o. |

onuman: You just proved you are very ignorant. Americans entered Afghanistan after the 911 attack on world trade center in New York by Osama Bin Laden and his gang that killed almost 3000 people. If not for that Americans wouldn't enter Afghanistan. Provide one source to corroborate your claim not some wishful story you heard somewhere. if it really happened it would be all over the news even with video. |

Emmanuel900: https://www.state.gov/u-s-security-cooperation-with-nigeria/ U.S. Security Cooperation with Nigeria FACT SHEET BUREAU OF POLITICAL-MILITARY AFFAIRS JANUARY 23, 2024 [For more than 50 years, the United States and Nigeria have enjoyed a strong security partnership and friendship. The U.S.-Nigeria relationship is among the most important in sub-Saharan Africa, given Nigeria’s status as Africa’s most populous country, largest economy, and our shared democratic values. The United States works closely with Nigeria, both bilaterally and through regional and multilateral fora like the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS, and the African Union. Our joint efforts are focused on increasing cooperation on maritime and border security, military professionalization, counterterrorism efforts against Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa, defense trade, and strengthening governance of the security sector.] Perhaps you are waiting for newspaper or television with news of American soldiers who died combating Boko Haram, before you believe that America cooperated on ground, and still cooperates with Nigeria, in the fight against Boko Haram. You are most likely to be in sympathy with Boko Haram and the sharia states of northern Nigeria in their openly stated desire for a country to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal laws. The desire of Boko Haram and the political/religious leaders of the far north Nigeria sharia states remains the reason why the fight against Islamic extremists in Nigeria is an unwinnable fight. Your saviour Muhammadu Buhari in 2001 pledged before a large crowd of Muslims in Kaduna that he would not relent until Islamic sharia criminal laws are applied in all the states of Nigeria. One of the earliest demands of Tanko Mohammed, the CJN of Nigeria appointed by then President Muhammadu Buhari was for Islamic sharia criminal laws be included in Nigeria's Constitution. |

The very people selling arms and weapons are the very people behind the insecurities in the world. Supply insurgents with a few thousand Ak 47 and make the country ungovernable, then make their leaders craw and beg to buy some outdated weapons to fight the same insurgents armed by arms dealers. After selling some useless tucano helicopters, it’s now vipers helicopters that will defeat insurgents? Well done America!!
