This sounds interesting, on the face of it, its a good news and a means of fighting insurgency. But the reality on the ground had shown that many innocent civilians living in their homes, (maybe even above the number of insurgents) has been killed, maimed and slaughtered by the very own fighter jets being flown by the NAF trained fighters.

In some quarters, there are worries that the jets are knowingly targeting and killing people that are not too friendly with the people in power, inquiries has been carried out in the past, reports of innocent people killed litters the Internet.

State policing will cure insecurity, any other measures are just to postpone the evil day.

Thanks, I won't be surprised if this deal is linked to Dangote Refinery buying crude oil from United States instead of refining Nigerian crude oil to ease pains of Inflation caused by fuel pump price hike and dollar scarcity. Dangote Refinery was supposed to return fuel pump price to around ₦150 or below until US came in with its own crude oil for the Refinery. Most Nigerians don't even see how their future is being mortgaged for the interest of those at the corridor of power. Nigerian sufferings paid for Dangote Refinery and now that the Refinery is supposed to ease the sufferings, the mega power brokers in USA came in to seal the deal with Fulanitocracy in Nigeria.

US and the West are the problem of Nigerian people and Africa at large, they continue pumping weapons in the hands of African dictators that have shown no regards for human rights and are battling with legitimacy from their people. This deal will further embolden Nigerian leaders to do as they want.

But imagine countries like Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, though under military rule but have enjoyed legitimacy from their people, US and the West refuse to sell weapons to them, but instead continue to sponsor attacks against their leaders, there have been 5 major French-sponsored military coups against the leader of Burkina Faso that have been reported already.

Americans troops landed in Nigeria to fight the Boko Haram group at the onset, but quickly went home when they discovered the insider sabotage of Nigeria's troops. They discovered it was a religious war involving a larger group in demand for Sharia criminal laws for all Nigeria fighting against rest of Nigeria.
The difference between the Boko Haram people and most of the Muslims in the sharia states of northern Nigeria, is like the difference between six and half a dozen.

Well said.

I don't pity them there, if dey like, dey should exterminate all of them undecided

U see dem protesting against Israel while boko Haram and bandits are killing them like chickens.

U.S. Security Cooperation with Nigeria
FACT SHEET

BUREAU OF POLITICAL-MILITARY AFFAIRS

JANUARY 23, 2024

[For more than 50 years, the United States and Nigeria have enjoyed a strong security partnership and friendship. The U.S.-Nigeria relationship is among the most important in sub-Saharan Africa, given Nigeria’s status as Africa’s most populous country, largest economy, and our shared democratic values. The United States works closely with Nigeria, both bilaterally and through regional and multilateral fora like the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS, and the African Union. Our joint efforts are focused on increasing cooperation on maritime and border security, military professionalization, counterterrorism efforts against Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa, defense trade, and strengthening governance of the security sector.]

Perhaps you are waiting for newspaper or television with news of American soldiers who died combating Boko Haram, before you believe that America cooperated on ground, and still cooperates with Nigeria, in the fight against Boko Haram.
You are most likely to be in sympathy with Boko Haram and the sharia states of northern Nigeria in their openly stated desire for a country to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal laws. The desire of Boko Haram and the political/religious leaders of the far north Nigeria sharia states remains the reason why the fight against Islamic extremists in Nigeria is an unwinnable fight. Your saviour Muhammadu Buhari in 2001 pledged before a large crowd of Muslims in Kaduna that he would not relent until Islamic sharia criminal laws are applied in all the states of Nigeria. One of the earliest demands of Tanko Mohammed, the CJN of Nigeria appointed by then President Muhammadu Buhari was for Islamic sharia criminal laws be included in Nigeria's Constitution.

You are just a delusional clown

US army and Nigeria army have been in cooperation for a long time even before bokoharam.

I told you and stated it that all what they provide is just training and support but they will never deploy their troops on the front line just like that in fact it would be all over the news if they did.

You are the one that said they deployed forces to fight and engage on the front line bokoharam and have also left when they discover the level of sabotage lol But you are now changing your tones to exactly what I stated.

When Americans special forces came to Nigeria during Trump government to rescued American kidnapped in Nigeria it was all over the news. In fact they personally killed 6 kidnapper in the operation.

Provide a source like this that says USA deployed their soldiers to fight bokoharam on the front line, US forces have not personally engage with Bokoharam but they may provide intelligence, training and information and they are still doing it unlike you that stated that US personally engaged bokoharam ,how many terrorists killed etc ? and there is no way it wouldn't be all over the news.

I'm more than happy if US forces personally help to fight Bokoharam on the front line but there is no where US have personally deployed their forces to engaged them, it just happened in your head.

What do you know jon snow?

Arm chair expert, talking as if you have worked in an attack helicopters sale shop or something before.

The monitoring or guidance and precision system and computers that would come with it are even more useful than the helicopters and should not be underestimated because Nigeria currently don't have much capabilities to track terrorists and bandits. With better system they wouldn't be attacking civilians instead of terrorists like it happened last time.

You know a thing or two about something and think you have known it all and an expert. Typical black man, don't be so close minded

Only an ignorant, half educated fellow
like you will assume that every attack
helicopter that comes from the US must
be an Apache❗️❗️❗️😡😡😡

Where was Apache mentioned in this
article that you are now quoting the price❓❓

Simple read and comprehension of a
story you can't do. I'm sure a person of
low intellect like you must have written
WASCE several times because you couldn't
get a credit in English Language.

In the first place, America only sells the
top secret Apache to very trusted allies. And again if my memory serves me right, only
Britain, Israel & Germany and a few
other traditional US defense allies get the top
models, while smaller allies get the lower
end versions.

Therefore you should understand
that getting an Apache is not a matter
of just going to give them money, dem no
go even answer you.

The AH-1Z Viper is not a major top
secret chopper in the US defense arsenal,
so they can afford to sell them to third
World countries like your own, who are
just battling ragtag herdsmen and religious
fanatics.

This one we are buying is quoted in the
range of 💲27m to 💲31m when it went
into production. After so many years, the
price should even be lower & America may
even be selling US refurbished ones

By the time you put in all the accessories,
including the missiles, ammunition
and training, there is no way the package
should cost more than 💲500m❌❌❗️❗️❗️

Go and do your research before coming
to social media to disgrace your family
for not educating you well. Mumu❗️❗️😡😡😡

Still close minded jon know

I'm not saying it was an apache but just saying how expensive an attack helicopter can be.

That 1 billion will also cover ammunition and weapons, servicing, repair and training etc for many years to come. You are just empty if you think they are cheap to operate.

You must know better than top Nigeria military and American Military that's why you are behind your phone typing all angry. Sorry me cheesy

How has the mighty America industrial revolution fallen for military Industrial complex!...... The only goods America export to the outside world is military weapons and nothing else.

Mean while, China is feeding the whole world, building infrastructure in every continents and expanding trade through belt and road initiatives.

God, America is shit.

Even reading your initial comments,
it's clear you are an Ignorant confused
fellow, because you were talking about
computer and guidance systems as if
Nigeria was procuring drones..

All the guidance systems and peripherals
are all in situ, on the craft itself. They are
not controlled remotely like UAVs.

It's clear you jumped into a conversation
not knowing the subject, and global political
dynamics of weapons trade amongst countries. You also didn't know who you
took you cheap phone to criticize.

People with limited knowledge like you
refer to all American attack choppers as
Apaches, not differentiating Vipers, Black hawks etc.
