There are lots and lots of scriptural terms that all these churchians don't even understand.

For instance let's consider the word:

"REPENT"

It applies only to those that knows and agreed with the terms and conditions of a religion but aren't living by it due to reasons best known to them so in the first century John the baptist and Jesus of Nazareth declaring it among the Jews were doing what is logical and sensible in fact Jesus warned his disciples who were all Jews not to go into Samaria (Northern Israel) to declare such word {Matthew 10:5-6} because Samaritans don't agree with Jews on terms and conditions of worship! John 4:20

But today you will see a churchian just standing by the road side where pedestrians of divers religions are passing shouting
"REPENT"
Now it's senseless because those passersby are from different religions and their terms totally differs so on what ground are they to repent?

The same applies to this BORN AGAIN issue!

I am born again because Jesus appeared and rescued me from slavery to satan, sin and self even when I least expected.

I was heading to hell and had lost all hope of escaping it but my Lord showed up with outstretched hands, a smile and eyes full of love. He lifted the burden of my neck and took it away.

Please can you share your salvation story

It's a long story. I will try to summarise it.

I was born into an idol worshipping family (if i give you the username i was usi when nairaland started, you will see a lot of incantations i was dishing out on this forum). We went to church on Sundays but just as part of religious rituals. I was a cool headed guy who was abandoned by his mother at the age of 3. In 1994, I had to move to Lagos as an house help. I was working with a religious people who I followed to this wonderful bible church. I had my first encounter with Jesus as a teenager in 1995.

However, I left the household in 1998 as a young man. I didn't know how to manage my new found independence with my faith in Christ Jesus. Girls were coming and before long I fell.

It was had for me, I felt too dirty to go to church and I became totally sold out to immorality and a host of other evil doings. From girlfriends to prostitutes. I became soo addicted to sex and porn that I couldn't stay two days without it.

I could lies for Africa. I thrived on bribery in my place of work etc. I was sold out to doing evil - especially sexual ills. It felt like I couldn't breathe without it.

I tried coming back to Christ but I just couldn't. The devil made sure of it.

At a time I felt if I could marry the only lady I ever loved, sexual enslavement may stop.

So, I got married.

I stopped for about a month after marriage but it came and got worse. I can't begin to tell you the terrible things I did just to satisfy my addiction to sex. It was terrible, my wife suffered and cried but there was no turning back.

The devil told me I can't be saved and that I should just continue with my terrible lifestyle. I had a lot of sicknesses, fear and attacks but I couldn't turn back, I was going deeper and deeper.

In all these, I was still attending church services even though I would move from church on Sundays to brothels.

One day, as usual, I came to the church, late as usual. I met the pastor (an invited guest) climbing the pulpit. I said to myself: "this man should be quick with his message as I had appointments with two girls that I just met on Saturday".

Few minutes into the message, I suddenly felt so heavy in my heart, so dirty and unworthy. I fell down on my knees (because i saw and felt this heavy load on my head), with tears running down my neck. I was oblivious to people around me.

Suddenly, I saw the Lord coming towards me with open arms and with a very bright smile on His face. He came right to where I was, pick up the Loads on my neck, turned back and disappeared.

I felt light and free! I jumped up on my feet and shouted: "I am free¡"

That was December 5, 2010 after 12 years of terrible enslavement of the devil.

And from that time, it has been from one glory to another.

For me it is because, as Jesus Christ made clear in His Gospel, it is the only way to get God's curse of Sin and Death over Israel - Deuteronomy 28 vs 15 - 57 - off of me and to be set free from sin itself and become a child of God - John 8 vs 31 - 44. Eternal Damnation aka Hell is only available to those who are equally born-again, yet refuse to obey the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ - Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46 . So it is useless to say one if afraid of it when it is rather a choice made in disobedience of God's Law, Jesus Christ.
